The virgin advert- no women pilots and no male air stewards.

Brilliant. Nearly let a bit of wee out I laughed so much. Only just found this forum and think I have found my spiritual home.

The co-op ad annoys me at the moment. That poor man, he doesn't want to spend his precious free time in the car going to the supermarket (suggesting his wife does?). He wants to stay at home and have sex (it's a statement not a question so not sure if his missus gets a say). She mustn't think 'damn we need food for our family and i've been at work all day, let's nip to the supermarket now'. Instead she needs to think about servicing his winkie.. It's ok, he'll pop in the co-op and get some ginsters on the way home.

I LOVE the Virgin ones... that's how Virgin was back in the days when they had about 3 planes.....

LilBB · 19/01/2011 19:38

The sofa one with the women in underwear and a woman singing girls on film. Why are they trying to sex up sofas? Why???????

The boots ones, any Sex and the City parody ones and the virgin ones.

Mumcentreplus · 18/01/2011 00:21

It's a shit movie mannn...but that's just me!

Mumcentreplus · 18/01/2011 00:20

^^

David Mitchell's take on the differences between adverts aimed at men, and women.

The Co-Op advert is annoying me, some woman supposedly having a discussion with her SO about how crap her life is because she spends all her free time shopping, but everything will be ok if she just pops down the Co-Op.

Coleysworth · 17/01/2011 23:24

Yeah, the bowel adverts never seem to feature squitting/constipated/farting men do they? Yet in real life men seem far more prone to gut rot than women Confused

Mumcentreplus · 17/01/2011 23:22

Oh and that Boots advert where the women obviously should be in bed but they are traipsing around giving their flu to everyone because they are 'wimmin' and they are there to care for their husbands who have the sense to 'stay' in fucking bed..Hmm

Mumcentreplus · 17/01/2011 22:51

and who changed that Confused.com man to a woman??? I mean the hair?..the tits?...no real feminist issue but it irritates the hell outta me...

Mumcentreplus · 17/01/2011 22:45

All I have noticed according to adverts.. apparently only women have 'bowel problems'Hmm..wouldn't know it... since my DH and most men I know have arse issues...extreme farting being the most obvious...

hogshead · 17/01/2011 22:33

I despise the advert for a furniture store which has some young ladies dancing round a sofa in their undies.

Because really that is going to make me buy your sofa Hmm

Also any advert in general endorsed' by a celebrity' particularly anti-wrinkle ones - just let us get old in peace.

3littlefrogs · 17/01/2011 22:28

The one that really annoys me is the Aviva health insurance one with the "nurses" dressed in stereotypical, supposedly sexy nurse costumes.

As a nurse of over 30 years experience and several academic and professional qualifications, this advert offends me on so many levels.......

I can't believe noone has mentioned that appaling face cream advert where they say "until you want something more drastic, this cream will stop your face looking like an arse" Jesus that does my head in.

I mean every single one of us should just be block booked in for a face lift at 40, right?

BitOfFun · 16/01/2011 00:36

I started a thread with this- but it seems like I should have posted it here, so here we are...

StuffingGoldBrass · 16/01/2011 00:23

I'm planningto sell my hair next year, actually. Just because.....

I'm worth it (about 200 quid apparently)

BibiBlocksberg · 14/01/2011 23:01

"the manipulative fucker is getting you to do all the work, and all you do is smile delightedly?"

Grin that just made me lol!! Exactly!! I'm not known as being demanding but even I would expect more than getting to do the cooking for a date I didn't know I was having, in my own home and plain pasta with a knob of butter too, Oh, yum yum :)

NicknameTaken · 14/01/2011 14:50

Bibi, totally agree about the pasta ad. So at the very start of this would-be relationship, when he's doing his best to woo you, the manipulative fucker is getting you to do all the work, and all you do is smile delightedly? Can you imagine what it would be like to be married to him?

And the Boots one with the sick women doing all the work - at first I thought it was funny, but now I think there's a subtext that of course women OUGHT to put their own needs last. Drug yourself to the eyeballs, lady, and keep doing all your duties!

(not for sexist reasons, but the lloyds bank ones are deeply irritating).

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 14/01/2011 12:32

Dietchef - "it's what all women want" [to diet to lose weight]. So much wrong with that statement I don't know where to start. Dieting is ineffective, not every woman wants to lose weight, men clearly don't need to!

And breathe...

higgle · 14/01/2011 10:12

Calgon!!! Where the knowledgable washing machine repair man has to take the woman's washing machine off her because she didn't use Calgon

thefentiger · 14/01/2011 09:54

wukter · 14/01/2011 09:40

It's the cock that rises internally and taps out a jaunty farty rhythm on the lower intestine.
