Your all time most HATED television advert.

I'll start. The tampon one from a few years ago where man & woman are sitting in an outside cafe, and she drops a pink wrapped min-tampon from her purse, and he hands it back to her thinking it's a sweet. FFS. If he doesn't yet know she menstruates, he's prob not ready for a sexual relationship.

Just realised that this thread is in Feminism so PLEASE ignore my last post - I thought it was just a general 'What advert do you hate?' thread - so my post about the creepy Evian babies doesn't really have a place here (I still hate it though!)

Yorkie - "It's not for girls".. Am pretty sure the side of the wrapper also said "Don't feed the birds" and similar slogans ??

The freezer polar bear is just freaky - is he some kind of gangster bear or is he trying to lure her into bed??

I hate the Go compare ones.

chocolatestar I saw that! It was about how a magical new cleaner makes a special barrier so next time it's easier to clean. (the ad obviously worked I can remember that).

I also wondered WTF she was doing cleaning grime off her hob when she was all done up and obviously about to go out. Who on earth would get all dolled up and then think "actually, I'll just clean the cooker before I go"? Bizarre.

The Coke Zero one (a few years ago) where there was a list of things men didn't like. One of them was 'girlfriends with a five year plan'. I actually complained to the ASA about that.
I just couldn't bear the characterisation of women as people who were somehow trying to trap men into having children. etc.

I don't recall what the reply was but I know the advert was pulled.

There was one on last night where a woman came in wearing a little black dress and was all 'Look, I am sexually available and I clean my kitchen' can't remember product, was too busy shouting at the telly.

Cillit Bang...I HATE them ALL! Have complained to advertising standards about sexism and they said while they had had some complaints there were not enough to warrant action.

So it's ok to target WOMEN only in selling a cleaning product. Oh and the Iceland one..."That's why this Mum will NEVER go to Iceland"

Apart from the fact it sells a lot of shit.

I am hating at the moment that Knorr stock pot advert with the chef is making the gravy surrounded by a horde of admiring women,who have been making gravy all their lives but are now just going to have to admit that his manly gravy beats theirs and is just altogether fantastic. I hate it mutter,mutter...

the one where Andie McDowell talks about 'greys'. Grey whats? Parrots? Aliens? It's the creepy way they are deliberately trying to make us more insecure about grey hair by implying we are already so obsessed by it they don't even need to finish the phrase. Bastards.
