I've preordered Janice Hallett's new book The Silent Appeal, and I can't wait for it to arrive.
What are you looking forward to being released?

Thanks @Philandbill . I didn't know about this, so I've just ordered it at the library.

I'm number 51 in the queue but I see they have ordered 53 copies!

I'm also going to be stalking the library catalogue to find out when the Janice Hallett and Kate Atkinson are available.
I'm also looking forward to Killer Twist by Jo Furniss, Peck and Peck by Bonnie Gamus and Murder at the Grand Hotel by Lucy Foley. I'm wondering what Lucy Foley will do with Miss Marple.

The Coming of Arthur by Malcolm Guite.

Philandbill · 29/08/2026 13:21

There's a new Kate Atkinson, but I'll wait until it is in paperback.

Yes, I have ordered that at the library because ever since the dreadful Alperton Angels, I promised myself that I would never actually buy another by Janice Hallett.
It was the worse book I have ever read and yet I loved The Appeal.

I think it was published a couple of days ago but I am really looking forward to Laura Thompson's, Eleven Days which looks at Agatha Christie's debunk to Harrogate.

Also looking forward-with a bit of trepidation thrown in- to the follow up to the Cazelet novels, The Golden Hours written by Elizabeth Jane Howard's niece, Louisa
