My Women by Yuliia Illiukha
Red Water by Jurica Pavicic
S by Slavenka Drakulic (this is a very difficult read about sexual assault during the Balkan Wars)

I am going through my Eastern Europe phase. I have almost finished Brigitte Reiman's Siblings which is set in 1960 East Germany.

@BuffysBigSister have you read any Irmgard Keun? She's Nazi Germany rather than East Germany. Fabulous books, written during Hitler's rise to power.

Yes, I read The Artificial Silk Girl last year.

I would recommend Katalin Street by Hungarian author Magda Szabo. Would like to rest the rest of her work (starting with The Door).

Currently reading Human Acts by Han Kang. I really enjoyed The Vegetarian.

reading I Made You Up Inside My Head by Marta Perez-Carbonell, translated from the Spanish by Rosalind Harvey. Echoes of The Talented Mr Ripley and Strangers on a Train, and very good so far - has an otherworldly sort of feel to it, and the characters are very layered.

I love reading women authors in translation. Favourites in the last year include Go, Went, Gone by Jenny Erpenbeck, There's No Turning Back by Alba De Cespedes, and The Dry Heart by Natalia Ginzburg.

Just a reminder to check your library online services. My library ebook service was promoting lots of new ebooks and audiobooks to celebrate this category this week, I downloaded some great ones to read over the holidays.

I read There’s No Turning Back recently and loved it. Now on the lookout for De Céspedes' Forbidden Notebook, which was highly recommended over on the 50 Books thread.
