The last couple of audiobooks I have enjoyed were:

  • The Names by Florence Knapp and read by Dervla Kirwan
  • Dream Count, written and read by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
  • American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins, read by Yareli Arizmendi

I want something along these lines - a gentle female voice quietly telling a compelling story about women.

The Embroidered Book by Kate Hearthfield was like a female Mr. Norrell & Jonathan Strange set in Versailles. I thought the narrator was good.

I enjoyed Americanah, also by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, read by Adjoa Andoh.

Also loved The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O Farrell, read by Genevieve Gaunt

I’ve recently listened to One of Us by Elizabeth Day and really enjoyed it.

It’s not exactly a story about women but it has strong female characters and the entire story unfolds through each of the characters.

I really enjoyed it.
