I’ve just read And Then There Were None and really loved it. It’s the first book I’ve read of hers.

But AC has written so many books - which ones are the best in your opinions?

OP posts:

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

EmpressaurusKitty · 26/03/2025 20:17

The Tommy & Tuppence ones, starting with The Secret Adversary.

Cosyvibes · 26/03/2025 20:18

Murder at the vicarage

GOODCAT · 26/03/2025 20:20

I hadn't read any Agatha Christie books in ages, but just finished the Murder of Roger Ackroyd and would definitely recommend it.

HumphreyCobblers · 26/03/2025 20:22

The Moving Finger.

Second vote for the Tommy and Tuppence series. My favourite Hercule Poirot is the very last one, but I would definitely save it until you've read a few others first.

the moving finger for Miss Marple

But I'd agree with this too 😉

Parker Pyne Investigates.

The Third Girl

They Came To Baghdad is brilliant.
I wish someone would make it into a film!

ABC Murders

Cat Among the Pigeons

Escaperoom · 26/03/2025 21:14

I have just re-read The Man in the Brown Suit and thought maybe someone should make a TV adaptation. It is one of the books without Poirot or Miss Marple.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/03/2025 21:30

My top three are:
And Then There Were None
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
Murder on the Orient Express

I also really like Cat Among the Pigeons and Five Little Pigs. A Murder is Announced is very good too.

Dolamroth · 26/03/2025 21:30

Sleeping Murder and Endless Night

REDB99 · 26/03/2025 21:32

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

DaisyDukesAuntie · 26/03/2025 21:33

This is also a good thread. I’ve just finished the Big Four - very very good!

Iknowaboutpopular · 26/03/2025 21:33

Evil under the sun is one of my faves.

QueenOfThorns · 26/03/2025 21:40

I love Crooked House. Also Death on the Nile.

Does anyone know which book is about someone who gets murdered because they’ve recognised someone living incognito locally from a newspaper article about historical murders? I think they work out the motive quite early on, but the article talks about quite a few people, so they don’t know which one of them it was, or even what age or sex of person they’re looking for.

BlueRaincoat1 · 26/03/2025 21:41

The Moving Finger was my long time favourite.

The classics, of Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile are both amazing.

I have recently been re- reading loads. Appointment With Death was really good.
