Can anyone recommend any? I’ve decided I enjoy this genre! Have just finished The Husbands and want to read more parallel universe type books. Also really liked The Midnight Library.

For One More Day - Mitch Albom

And one we are about to read for book group - Before The Coffee Gets Cold, by a Japanese writer I can't remember the name of!

It’s by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I am about to start this too. I also second Life After Life and Wrong Place Wrong Time was really clever

Have you read Million Eyes by C.R.Berry? it's a combination of sci fi, with a time travel element, + the government conspiracy thriller sub-genre, with facets of historical fiction.
A remedy in time by Jennifer Macaire
Isaac Newton's 21st Century Entanglement: A time-travelling caper
Promises of the runes by Christina Courtenay (and other books by her)

Not sure if this counts… but I really enjoyed
How to Stop Time - Matt Haig

LOVED this.

Hotgirlwinter · 07/05/2024 21:42

The Binding - Bridget Collins

It has a feel of other time / other world whilst not being heavily fantasy. I loved it.

This a brilliant thread thank you!

I second end of my y and life after life and the first 13 lives of...

Also the Man who saw everything by Deborah Levy

MermaidEyes · 07/05/2024 15:07

Maybe in another life by Taylor Jenkins Reid, another sliding doors type of novel.

JaneJeffer · 07/05/2024 14:55

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

This may sound like a strange recommendation as it’s also a psychological thriller, but Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister is brilliant!

I second that!

The Sea of Tranquility is utterly beautiful.

Mandel's Station Eleven is equally exquisite and the TV series is by far one of my favourites.

Kilroywashere · 15/04/2024 10:12

Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever - Stephen Donaldson

evtheria · 15/04/2024 10:01

I loved Piranesi, and also second The Sea of Tranquility.

The Night Ship
The Long Earth

Ooh, nice thread. I didn't realise this was a whole genre. I really like Growing Up Again, by Catriona McCloud.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 15/04/2024 09:52

The Versions of Us by Laura Barnett - a sliding-doors type account of three ways a relationship could have gone.

cassiatwenty · 15/04/2024 09:46

Coraline by Neil Gaiman. A bit scary 😬

Mothership4two · 15/04/2024 07:49

The End of Mr Y was great and deserves a reread. She wrote some other good ones too.
