So despite all the clues, I have two that I just cannot fathom for neither love nor money and I'm getting extremely frustrated:

Albania/Australia/Argentina/Another/Austria
You really must read this book

Re the ladder, the singer of the song with the same name had a resurgence earlier this year as another one of her songs was made popular curtesy of Stranger Things.

Still not got the ladder, fruitless googles of 80s songs. It's my last one.

It was a number 1 hit in 1978 in the U.K.
