Time slip novels

I absolutely love reading time slip novels. I've read all of Nicola Cornick's series and I've just finished the second instalment in Kelley Armstrong's Stitch in time series. Can anyone please recommend any more novels in the same genre? I've googled it and searched everywhere but there seems to be very few authors writing this type of novel.

Time and Time Again by Ben Elton
Timeline by Michael Crichton

11.22.63 , Stephen King, has been mentioned a couple of times.

It is one of the best books I've ever read.

I would honestly give Lady of Hay a miss, it has not aged well at all.

The House on the Strand by Daphne Du Maurier was excellent.

Beyond the Moon - Catherine Taylor - bit cheesy.
Also the Kate Mosse Languedoc trilogy.

Thirding Connie Willis's Oxford time travel series
Doomsday Book - the plague, harrowing
To Say Nothing of the Dog - light and very funny
Blackout/All Clear - WWII, multi stranded and fascinating
and a short story, Fire Watch, also WWII, and haunting.

And Susan Price for The Sterkarm Handshake and The Sterkarm Kiss. These are astounding

Oh, I loved The Sterkarm Handshake, though it’s so not my usual hing that I can’t even remember how I came to read it. I thought the sequel was weaker, bough.

The Green Knowe books by LM Boston are magical and have a lot of back and forthing time wise. An enemy at green knowe is my favourite but they are all great

I was meant to read them as a child but was so bored, perhaps they were too difficult for an 9 year old

newfence · 03/11/2022 12:22

@Figrolls14 this has just prompted me to watch the 1980's tv series - bloody loved it as a child. So magical!

I love time slip books and tv Programmes!

Hexwood by Diane Wynne Jones. So confusing and brilliant. This is one of a handful of books I can read and reread and never get tired of it.

ilovesushi · 02/11/2022 23:17

@JaninaDuszejko great list! I loved Playing Beatie Bow. Reread it recently and it was still amazing.

Sorrynotsorry2 · 25/10/2022 14:39

Jason aryes. The time bubble series . Think there's about 13 books in the series

Movinghouseatlast · 23/10/2022 17:07

You all simply HAVE to read Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllistair. Truly one of the best books I have ever read.

Also The House On The Strand by Daphne du Maurier

Sea of Tranquility by Emily St John Mandel

HelenaJustina · 23/10/2022 16:04

Yet another vote for the Chronicles of St Mary’s, I got into them after a recommendation on here a couple of years ago - have now read all of them and every short story too.

enough historical detail to be fascinating and a good twisty/modern plot with plenty of humour.

Dancingwithunicorns · 23/10/2022 16:00

Pamela Hartshorne

Time’s Echo
The Memory of Midnight
The Edge of Dark
House of Shadows

The Sterkham Handshake is brilliant. Absolutely couldn't put it down.

mrsdolittle · 23/10/2022 15:55

And if you like children's books KM Peyton wrote a lovely one called A Pattern of Roses

mrsdolittle · 23/10/2022 15:52

I see someone has already recommended Susanna Kearsley but just to add that all of her books are time slip to a degree.

My absolute favourite is Marianna, and the Winter Sea followed by The Firebird are just wonderful. But basically can't go wrong with her

woodhill · 23/10/2022 15:38

I liked the drama with Sandra in it

I'd never read her before

KillingMeDeftly · 23/10/2022 15:36

Oh that's her most recent one! I quite liked it as it deviated a bit from her usual formula and the story of Eadburgh has always intrigued me.
