I really enjoyed reading this book as it provided such a human insight into the horror of the holocaust.

I second the Pianist.

Both very important contributions to the telling of recent history.

Amazing book, I’m sure it will be made into a film as well. It’s compelling to read, more so for being a true story.

That was to CuntyBump

The Pianist by Wladyslaw Szpilman

Yes it's a fantastic book. Must read. Agreed with PP, his guilt really comes across and is heartbreaking. The bit with the gypsies... God.
This should be must read material for GCSEs.

I read it last week and I couldn't put it down. I've been thinking about it ever since.

Does anybody have any other reccomendations along the same vein?

Fanta4 · 31/08/2018 20:52

Very important book. The guilt he felt about finding himself part of the enforcement team to save himself is profound and utterly heartbreaking.

Yes, I really enjoyed this (agree though that enjoyed doesn’t seem the best wording)

It's a fantastic book. One of the best I've read, but make sure you have some Kleenex handy.

A truly amazing read. I was gripped by it, and found it quite upsetting in places.

I finished this last week. I really enjoyed it (probably wrong choice of words but you know what I mean). It's an amazing story.
