@Thirtyrock39
The future homemakers of America by Laurie graham (in fact anything by her)
I love Laurie Graham's books too and have read pretty much everything she has written.
I wondered if you had noticed that she has recently published a sequel to The Future Homemakers called The Early Birds The Early Birds which basically follows the same women in to old age. I loved it.

Kuriusoranj just ordered Replay from the library -thanks! I love this section of MN.

PinkietheElf · 07/01/2018 13:32

I read and loved Brazzaville Beach by William Boyd 25 years ago.

Haven't reread it but have read all of his books and love them.

craigglen · 07/01/2018 10:51

How funny Cooroo - Barchester Towers would be in my top ten but I hated Emma (had to read it for Eng Lit A level) and have never read another Jane Austen book since!

SylviaTietjens · 06/01/2018 21:16

One Hundred Years of Solitude. It really does seem like a different book each time you read it.

Licencedtodrill · 06/01/2018 21:14

Can't choose just one:
Rebecca
To kill a mockingbird
Never let me go

Cooroo · 06/01/2018 17:47

Kuriusoranj - Replay! I've hardly met a soul who knows this book and it is utterly wonderful isn't it? Totally spoiled Time After Time for me because I felt it had been done so well already.

My personal top books are
Emma
Barchester Towers
I Capture the Castle
And just at present, The Ocean at the End of the Lane because despite some flaws it makes me shiver deep inside.

Thehairthebod · 06/01/2018 17:42

Once I have finished ploughing through Harry Potter I am going to read The Secret History. I am really worried I won't like it or won't get it!

My all time favourite is The Handmaid's Tale.
