Hi, lots of interest on a different thread for starting a 2018 MN reading group.
Aim is to read one book a month, finishing by 25th of each month then discussing and selecting the next month's book.
For January we have gone for North and South by Elisabeth Gaskell.
So this thread is for those who want to join in, all are welcome Smile

I’ve had it on my kindle for a while, so maybe this will be what I need to get me started on it!

SellMySoulForMoreSleep · 01/01/2018 21:06

IrisAtwood · 01/01/2018 21:00

Meduse · 01/01/2018 20:34

Great! Me too,I'm in.It will be a bit of a challenge to read a classic novel after a long time of flying through more modern styles
Will download it now

Hardygirl78 · 01/01/2018 19:52

I'll join you if you don't mind, I was struggling to decide what to read next but have just downloaded this onto my kindle and made a start.

RainOnATinRoof · 01/01/2018 19:05

I read up to chapter 4 yesterday, and hope to get a couple more chapters in this evening. So far, so good.

Elizabeth Gaskell has a very modern style, I find.

ScribblyGum · 01/01/2018 17:32

My favourite book of 2017. Can strongly recommend the audiobook. Juliet Stevenson does a wonderful job.

mamapants · 01/01/2018 13:20

Can I join please. Never read it, will get it on kindle now. Will be good to have some motivation to read more rather than default to TV all the time.

gruffaloshmuffalo · 01/01/2018 12:41

chilly - thanks for helping getting this thing started 😀
neckless- that's fab you've read n and s with your book group. Would we be able to unashamedly steal the discussion points off your reading group if you happen to still have any? Blush

There is a free version on Kindle as well which I might go for even if there is a few grammar mistakes.
