I am having a very Dim day, have only just found the 20th clue! It's very tiny.

Cacofonix - the ferry is very famous in literature

As for the oranges, you are looking to describe the figure by colour and person (it's a children's book).

The orange one foxed me for a bit but (as ever) once you get the answer it's oh so simple :)
So with the oranges one: admittedly it's a very weird pic but it's a boy, he's eating an orange and he is also rather orange. So he is an ....
(it's a YA book)

The ferry one...it's a children's classic.
