I’m reading The Words in My Hand by Guinevere Glusford.

Just wondered what everyone else has on the go and if you are enjoying it.

I've just read '`The Returning Tide" by Liz Fenwick -a holiday book but I really enjoyed it.

reflexfaith · 30/10/2017 00:54

'Never Let Me Go' by Ishiguro
I really enjoyed that one!
I'm halfway through 'Aurora' Kim Stanley Robinson [thumbsup]

Livness12 · 30/10/2017 00:38

2 books atm:

The Christmas Party - Georgette Heyer
A Daughter's Secret - Eleanor Moran

The Ritual by Adam Neville, after seeing it recommended here. It's... ok. Not very well written though, implausible characters/reactions.

Before that I read Dark Matter by Michelle Paver, which was amazing and super creepy. I bought Thin Air by her to read next.

I think A Little Life must be a love or hate book. I was in the love category.

Did you see Melody by Sophie Hannah

It's promising to scare me like the others did! But I like it!

Jenniferturkington · 26/10/2017 20:09

I've just finished 'A little life'. It was possibly the most depressing misery filled drivel I've ever read. And 800 odd pages 😩

Wildernesstips · 26/10/2017 18:35

Min loved that book!

Listening to Curtis Sittenfield's Eligible which is a modern take on Pride & Prejudice. Reading Commonwealth by Ann Patchett - enjoying it, but it seems quite short.

Waitingforgodot · 23/10/2017 20:00

I've just finished Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Loved it!
Now about to start The Blade Artist by Irvine Welsh

SenoritaViva · 23/10/2017 19:51

I have just finished Eleanor Oliphant is completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.
A quick and very easy to read book but with some substance. It made me laugh but had some terribly sad parts too.

FairyPenguin · 23/10/2017 19:47

Dominion by CJ Sansom. Has been sitting on the bookshelf for months - finally got around to reading it.

Tarahumara · 23/10/2017 19:43

The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell. Really enjoying it.

mstrotwood · 23/10/2017 19:41

Like bettythebutterfly I'm also on a prizewinning books run this week.

I just finished 'Lincoln in the Bardo' by George Saunders. I was not so sure I'd like it, but it is surprisingly good and I really enjoyed reading it.

Next up: 'Never Let Me Go' by Ishiguro.

CupcakeEater · 22/10/2017 22:01

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell (Susanna Clarke), struggled in the beginning but now quite into it.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 22/10/2017 21:26

In the spirit of Halloween coming up I am reading E.F. Benson's collective horror stories.

EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic · 22/10/2017 09:23

betty. I read the Power shortly after it won the Orange Prize. It is an excellent book, won’t say more as I don’t want to give the end away.

The Power. Great dystopian novel, love the way the author plays with gender and the roles we hold in society.

Next up is Golden Hill by Francis Spufford. Am on a prizewinning books run at the moment!

bbpp · 22/10/2017 00:41

I read Testosterone Rex tonight (in one go!) after its mention in a thread. Funny, interesting.

Moving onto "World without mind".

minsmum · 22/10/2017 00:18

The light between the oceans I keep trying to read and can't quite get into- I'm inspired now to persevere with it!

BikeRunSki · 21/10/2017 05:39

Greentea, I found “The Light Between Oceans* OK to start with, but couldn’t put it down at the end.

blueskyinmarch · 21/10/2017 05:34

Just started the new Dan Brown one, Origin. I am on holiday and find his books to be a good holiday romp.
