As I recall I merely sent an email to [email protected] with "what next?" in the subject line. I got a reply back instantaneously. It seems as though it must be something to do with your firewall or over-enthusiastic spam-filter then.

Hausfrau - just seen your message. I've just done the whole thing again to remind myself and must say that each time I have got all the emails back instantaneously. Are you stuck on the first one then?

I've not actually read The Da Vinci code yet - but DH bought me an Illustrated copy for Xmas (never seen an illustrated fiction novel before)had a quick flick through and it's full of gorgeous works of art and old buildings, etc.

Glad that the majority appear to recommend it. Trouble is its so big - I can't read it in bed and need to make time to sit and read it (LOL at mere suggestion of any personal time).

Sorry Freddiecat - tried Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco and absolutely hated it, could not get on with it at all. Actually kept it for 2 years and attempted to read it at various intervals, very tedious.

I checked out the Last Supper after reading it as well. Great read but some of the clues were very obvious. I think it's all true!!

I've enjoyed all of Dan Browns books but I'm no intellectual by any means, I just enjoy a good yarn.

Another good author, who I discovered quite recently is Tess Gerritsen. She writes modern day thrillers. Also Harlan Coben writes a pretty good yarn.

yes, I did too re checking out the last supper, but just because some bloke a few hundred years ago decided to have a laugh & paint a woman into the scene doesn't mean that
a. there was a woman at the Last Supper (none is mentioned, in fact, it specificaly says the 12 were there, & they are named)
b. The woman was Mary Magdalene
c. Jesus was having it off with Mary Magdalene
d. Mary Magdalene was/is the Holy Grail

None of the ideas in the book were his anyway, which he says. the conspiracy theory has been about a long time, he's just taken this theory & made it into an easy-to-read crimi

errr..roobie, as the beginning of the book says, all the symbology and theories presented are facts in as much as they are different takes on the early church. holy blood holy grail the book exists too from which a lot of this stuff is taken.

the book was so predictable, written to look clever but actually not at all, and so obviously written with film production in mind. wasn't impressed. thought it was ok but not deserving of the raves by any means.

I have just finished this and came back to read comments here after the event. I was gripped. Clever plot and for once a deserving best seller.
I am interested to read a film is being made of it.

I'm just about to finish it - think it's a fantastic book! Certainly makes me see a lot of Da Vinci's work in a different light!

Oh yes I do know Roobie I do think that the people who take novels as fact are probably the same ones who punch soap stars when they are out shopping for actions committed by their characters - they need to get a grip on reality!

FF I agree btw, don't give it to him if he is likely to be upset by it!
