angiehoggett · 16/03/2017 16:43

brilliant book and she has written it beautifully

Jossykaye · 14/03/2017 22:26

Just received my copy- thanks Mumsnet. It's a beautiful looking book and I can't wait to get started.

JJM · 13/03/2017 21:04

Just received this and initial thoughts are bright and colourful book, easy to read and blend of practical advice and useful tips ( that work for Fearne). Not sure i would actually buy this book- maybe as a paper back but not at the current hardback cost!

grannybiker · 13/03/2017 07:09

I'd love my own copy after diving into a copy left on the table at a friend's house.
Some quite simple-seeming tips, but actually, sometimes we just need reminding that there is much in life to be happy about. This book achieves this is easy to read, bite-sized chunks.

mummyhereandthere · 11/03/2017 20:13

I find it a bright and cheerful way to help someone do simple things to help them with depression. I found the interviews with other people/organisations a great element to the book. I did find it a bit boring at times and repetitive, maybe because over the years read too many similar type books. I was expecting more about Fearne but seemed a bit closed off to me. However, I did like the visual tools and the design of the book was very appealing. I do think it is good for such a public figure to be discuss mental health and get the topic up for more discussion.

Really pleased to have received a cooy if this beautiful book!

I'll post again when I've read it.

Book has just been delivered. I like Fearne Cotton so was interested in this book and how happy it would make me feel. I haven't read the whole book yet but I think over the coming months I will dip into it most days.

I love the different "tasks" within the book that make you think about the things make you happy. These can be little simple things that you don't even focus on when you have the black dog hanging over you.

An absolutely superb book, beautifully written and with lovely illustrations. Everybody should read it, even if it is just to reaffirm that life isn't as bad as you think when little things go wrong.

I can't bring myself to write in a book so I will use a pretty notebook (something that always makes me happy) to do the exercises dotted throughout the book. I will lend this book to my friend and tell her NOT to write in it.The one thing I would have liked to finish off the lovely book is a pretty ribbon bookmark. But not to worry, I'm off to our local bookshop to buy myself a pretty bookmark as this book deserves nothing less.

Oh, and I will come back to this book in a year to see how my thoughts have differed. Thank you so much for sending it to me.

A very interesting read with some great advice and tips also loved the illustrations

emilybc · 05/03/2017 16:09

I was sceptical that I'd like this book to be honest, as I've never been a huge Fearne fan. But she completely changed my mind - it was a great read and there were so many elements I felt I could apply to my daily life.

By talking about mental health she's paving the way for others to do so, reducing the stigma surrounding it and bringing the issue to the forefront of people minds.

I would reccomend this book to both Fearne lovers and on-the-fencers alike. It's an easy, enriching read from someone who is obviously very intelligent and likeable.

sophiefx · 05/03/2017 15:55

I've always been a fan of Fearne Cotton so as soon as this had come out, I jumped at the opportunity to read it. I read this book in a few days on my commute to work, It was a very easy read and make me feel significantly better about myself every time I read a small section. Very positive and amazing advice/tips throughout, I can't fault it. Would definitely recommend to other people.

I loved the happiness project by Gretchen Rubin, Hopefully this is similar

Yolandafarthing · 04/03/2017 21:29

It's dreadful. I really don't know why she felt the need to bring it out other than making a quick buck.

AuntieH123 · 04/03/2017 21:24

Sounds like I need this book

hayleyjw29 · 04/03/2017 15:48

sounds like a lovely book

emmav6 · 03/03/2017 12:48

some good tips but i can't see this reaching out to a lot of people.

jacqui5366 · 27/02/2017 13:50

she gives some good advice, it is honest and after reading this book, I am thinking 'outside the box' and finding my spiritual self.

Cailin7 · 26/02/2017 12:57

This is well presented and very honest account from Fearne, however although I found it interesting and full of advice it is not for me in terms of returning to for help and inspiration.

Marg2k8 · 25/02/2017 12:11

I haven't read it yet, but one to put on my 'must read' list.

cookie09 · 25/02/2017 11:39

Such an incredible book. So easy to read and I love the little exercises and drawings/paintings. So lovely to hear someone in the public eye speak so honestly about there own mental health. What an inspiring and down to earth lady Fearne is!

sweir1 · 24/02/2017 19:43

This is full of great advice. Great read

ha2el · 24/02/2017 14:33

I don't think that the book tells us anything new. However I thought that it was a good way to remind ourselves and reignite interest in looking after our spiritual and mental well being.

iut044 · 23/02/2017 12:54

This books contain useful advice and very good tips .
