Morning!
I want to give a nod to Terry Pratchett when I re-name my new home (house currently has an awful name - think Daret - named after the owners, Darren and Janet.)
Is there a way of doing that without giving my house a ridiculous name?
So no to: Dunwitchin; Rincewind's Retreat; the Unseen University; Carrot's cottage; Detritus' Den etc Grin

Any thoughts?

The Guild House.

Zogthebiggestdragon · 13/04/2016 19:33

Not considering the Twaddle House then? Grin

Surely there's something Ramkin related? Ramkin Estates? What are your favourite books, might narrow it down a bit. Lancre View? (Might be confusing if you don't have a view)...

Lilac Villa? Lilac House? The Lilacs?

Thanks everyone!
Dh likes Lilac Cottage but inconveniently pointed out our house is not a cottage.
Then he suggested Dunmanifestin' - eejit Smile

He had to go straight out but wants to see this thread later.
I like The Watch House. Although does it sounds a bit creepy out of context?
Like we're doing the watching?!

Ridcully's Retreat?
Great A'Tuin (sp)?
Tower of Art?
Pseudopilis Yard?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/04/2016 17:49

I'd go with The Watch House.

KanyeWesticle · 13/04/2016 17:43

Wintersmith house sounds good.

iklboo · 13/04/2016 17:34

Longbottom Lodge
Kelda's Barrow
Wormsborough (Nobby's middle name)

crunchyfrog · 13/04/2016 17:25

Turnwise or Widdershins Cottage.

dinkystinky · 13/04/2016 15:52

More from me too...

Castle of Bones (from the Hogfather)
The Luggage
Roundworld
The Shepherd's Crown (if remotely rural - and v fitting tribute as the name of his last book)

MidnightVelvetthe5th · 13/04/2016 15:00

I know its not later but just quickly:

The Cunning Artificers
Plaza of Broken Moons
Lobbin Clout
The Long Man

MidnightVelvetthe5th · 13/04/2016 14:43

Eek blatant placemarking as I need to go to school now.

Not sure if they have already been suggested as I don't have time to RTFT but:

The Shades
The Sunshine Sanctuary
The Watch House
Ankh House (sounds a bit Egyptian maybe)
Number Twelve Shaft
L Space
The Counterweight

Will be back with more later!!

And I double dare you to have The Glom Of Nit carved over your front portal :) Grin

dinkystinky · 13/04/2016 14:32

I like The Shades - is something TP fans would get

Also possible is The Watch House or Wintersmith Lodge?

iklboo · 13/04/2016 14:18

Casanunder is the dwarf lothario / great lover. Wonderful play on Casanova by Sir Terry Grin

The seamstresses guild?!!!! My dh and DC are living here!

Oh I'm ashamed to say I don't recognise all the references - I've read all the discworld books, some of them more than once but I have a shocking memory Blush

Llamedos Cottage, it's not obvious, it's a good tribute AND it's an insult all at once......

Zogthebiggestdragon · 13/04/2016 09:09

The Twaddle Room? I'll stop now.
