Ha. Glad it's not just me Grin

AWhistlingWoman · 05/01/2014 11:06

Do you know Cherry? That thought HAS crossed my mind! That the people who choose the books that are sold in the supermarket, on the 3 for 2 in Waterstones and on promotion on big websites such as Amazon are all in on some conspiracy. Especially when I can't seem to find anything that I actually WANT to read! Get this creepy feeling that somebody, somewhere is keeping all the really good books out of my clutches Grin

Cherrypi · 05/01/2014 07:53

Ooh hope you like it awhistling. It's made me think about the world differently such as Amazon are secretly controlling us by reducing the prices - making us read all the same books. Wink

CelticPromise · 04/01/2014 23:56

Oh thankyou, just bought a few Smile I noticed Life After Life is also 99p and it's flipping brilliant.

AWhistlingWoman · 04/01/2014 23:43

Was hesitating over The Circle but, on the strength of Cherrypi's recommendation, I am going to splash out another whole 99p Grin

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 04/01/2014 23:42

There seems to be a similar range on Barnes&noble if you have a nook not a kindle. Just bought the luminaries, and 4 others. Well chuffed!

AWhistlingWoman · 04/01/2014 23:35

Thank you very much for the tip Duchess

Also got carried away and bought seven books!

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 23:20

Can I recommend the new Sue Monk Kidd when it comes out? I love her.

Mignonette · 04/01/2014 23:17

Thanks Duchess

Just downloaded that and a few others!

LCHammer · 04/01/2014 23:09

I've bought seven books. With a few paperbacks too I'm sorted till Easter. I'll start with Americanah. My first Kindle experience.

Wisteria36 · 04/01/2014 22:35

Excellent thanks for link. I think I will get We Need New Names and A Tale For The Time Being. Have read Harvest and The Luminaries and really enjoyed both (esp. Harvest).

The Ocean At The End Of The Lane - Neil Gaiman is 99p as well.
Off to see what else I can find. Smile

AgentProvocateur · 04/01/2014 13:12

Thanks. I bought the luminaries, Harvest, We Need New Names and Life After Life - all for 99p.

Can I recommend Gift Of Rain? It's on that list too - although slight dearer than 99p - and it's wonderful.

Kasterborous · 04/01/2014 13:04

I'd just come on to see if someone had started this a thread about this. I've been waiting for it to come down in price and have been looking daily. I'm going to look at your link now thank you Smile

LCHammer · 04/01/2014 12:42

Thanks for that. I'll get DH to buy them too.

Cherrypi - just finishing The Circle, about 50 pages left.

Cherrypi · 04/01/2014 12:09
