I'm just over halfway through Dominion and loving it. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but am enjoying it so much I almost don't want to read it iyswim as then I will have finished it.

I love Natasha Solomon's writing. Really enjoyed Mr Rosenblom's list and The gallery of vanishing husbands. I fall in love with the characters in her books.

Black is the Colour - Helen Howe. One of those novels that is so readable and easy to get lost in. Can't wait for her next.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 14/10/2013 14:06

Another vote for 'The Night Circus' - just gorgeous.

I have Doctor Sleep and The Light Between Oceans waiting on my Kindle. And Joe Hill's latest, Nos4R2.

Currently re-reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series (for the umpteenth time, on book 8 now and will actually get to read the whole lot this time - yay!).

The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman. It was recommended on here; I don't think I'd have picked it up otherwise. Absorbing and beautifully written.

Reading The Sunne in Splendour at the moment and really enjoying this detailed account of Richard III's life.

Behind the scenes at the museum - Kate Atkinson ...... Beautiful book

MrsDesperado · 13/10/2013 22:20

Apple Tree Yard - consumed every spare minute I had! Mourning the absence of it in my life now...

AvonCallingBarksdale · 13/10/2013 17:55

gazzlaw I was going to say Perfect, too. I loved that even more than Harold Fry - really stayed with me.

Leo35 · 12/10/2013 20:55

I've just finished Life, Death and Vanilla Slices by Jenny Eclair. A melancholy read, but great storytelling. Didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did (is that damning with faint praise?).

mrswalker13 · 12/10/2013 19:55

Second vote for The Night Circus. Also loved The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Frye.

To kill a mocking bird

dontwanttobefatandforty · 12/10/2013 15:06

just finished Room, I couldnt put it down!

hackmum · 12/10/2013 15:04

I have just finished Ring of Bright Water by Gavin Maxwell. Incredibly well-written, but also evocative and funny and immensely sad too. Really loved it.

Housesellerihope · 12/10/2013 06:57

Me Before You by JOJo Moyes. I don't usually like sappy heart string-pulling stuff but this was very good and different from the rest.

gazzalw · 11/10/2013 15:17

Perfect - it was gentle, very sad if not tragic and very evocative of the 1970s....for me a 'perfect' combination

CelticPromise · 11/10/2013 15:15

Life After Life by Kate Atkinson is my favourite this year.

I really like the Shardlake books. Dominion began well but fizzled off, imho.

I enjoyed King's Doctor Sleep, most recently.

Sallystyle · 07/10/2013 12:42

Eleanor and Park.. beautiful.

JGBMum · 06/10/2013 21:53

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
A friend loaned me the book, and I loved it. I recommended it to my book group as our next read, and everyone loved it (unheard of for us)

I Capture the Castle. I can't believe it's taken me this long to read it. I should have read it as a teenager.

tumbletumble · 06/10/2013 19:32

Recently finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett - really enjoyed it.

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. Loved it :)

Kasterborous · 06/10/2013 19:00

Yes Dominion is C J Sansom. I've read Dissolution by him and am going to read the rest of the Shardlake ones too.
