My favourite authors are Ian McEwan, Sebastian Faulks, Kazuo Ishiguro and Margaret Atwood. I've adored everything they've written. So who else might I like please? I need something new to read! Smile

Oh, how about Donna Tartt?

SageBush · 20/09/2013 22:31

Carol Shields is another brilliant writer - 'Unless' is astoundingly good. I also agree with the Angela Carter and Sarah Waters recommendations.

Alice Munroe, another Canadian

Murakami''s After Dark is very good.

Can only echo coupland and carter as well- both brilliant.

Irvine welsh, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, emile Zola - also on my favourites and I love the authors you've listed.

Oooooohhh after a very quick google I like the look of Haruki Murakami!!
Is 1Q84 any good? It appears to be 3 books?

The Magic Toy Sop description on amazon sounds a bit too unusual for me. Is it?

(any Carter book would do but TMT is good. And Martin Amis is good if you really like McEwan) Smile
