Are new ones being added to this one? There doesn't seem to be an option to click and see new additions like last time.

Ooh, thanks for this. I definitely want the Lionel Shriver and The White Queen.

Off to browse for more!

AnonYonimousBird · 01/08/2013 11:06

southeastsweller - you are the opposite of me! I bought the paperback, got a cheap second hand copy because I felt I would struggle to read it on Kindle, but I bought the Kindle copy at 99p when I saw it this week, so that I can read it out and about if I don't have my paperback with me.... odd? yes, probably!

Dunlurking · 01/08/2013 10:39

I agree with you Arcticwaffle that this sale looks useful for stocking up on teen books. I've just finished The Secret Hen House Theatre before passing onto dd. Perfect for early teens. It is gripping, funny and sad in parts and I read until 1 in the morning 2 nights running.

Arcticwaffle · 01/08/2013 10:21

Oh yes, thanks for the link, this is a really good sale! Just in time for summer holiday reading preparation.

I just got the Lionel Shriver, Alexandria Quartet, Stepford Wives, Slaughterhouse 5, and 8 books for the 13 and 11 yo dds - teen books are often quite expensive on Kindle so that's been very useful.

Sorry to be dense but is there any way of browsing the Kindle sale on our Kindles? I can't for the life of me see whereConfused

notsohot · 01/08/2013 08:11

Just bought Lucinda Hawksley's March Women March for £1.19 for those of you that like a bit of non-fiction.

FeegleFion · 31/07/2013 23:52

I'm predicting that my bank will take a hit when I've clicked the link.

Is it really sad that I'm excited? Confused

NobodyPutsTomArcherInTheCorner · 31/07/2013 23:20

Thanks minsmum!Smile I didn't know about this.

ButThereAgain · 31/07/2013 22:53

My lips are pinched at the thought of the large number of quids I paid for Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies, now that they are available for 99p.

Mind you, I was amazed at the poor quality of the Kindle version of another of Mantel's books, Beyond Black, which was crammed with scanning errors. It was clear that the e-version hadn't been proofread. I got my money back.

I guess that WF and BUTB will have been e-published more conscientiously than her back catalogue appears to have been. Astonishing that e-books, the future of publishing, are still so patchy.

CoteDAzur · 31/07/2013 21:33

I just got Lionel Shriver's last book, too. Thanks for the heads up.

greenhill · 31/07/2013 20:49

I've bought two Ira Levin novels and the Lionel Shriver one. I will undoubtedly be back though.

valiumredhead · 31/07/2013 20:41

South- you aren't missing out

Southeastdweller · 31/07/2013 20:35

Thanks Anon for reminding me about Wolf Hall. The brick size of the paperback seems quite intimidating and I feel like I'm missing out by not reading any of her stuff.

AnonYonimousBird · 31/07/2013 18:30

Marking my place.

Going in for the two Ira Levin's I haven't already got which are listed plus I also got Wolf Hall, And The Mountains Echoed, The White Queen, The King Maker's Daughter, The Best of Our spies, Life! Death! Prizes!, and Freeing Grace and May we be Forgiven.

Think that's it!

ButThereAgain · 31/07/2013 17:52

I didn't realise that the author of Rosemary's Baby was also the author of The Stepford Wives. That's 99p too.

Thanks for starting the thread. Thanks I have bought: Shrivers' book Big Brother, Slaughterhouse Five, a history of the Cathars, Rosemary's Baby, and The Stepford Wives. That's a goodly haul for a fiver.Smile

Giblet · 31/07/2013 17:41

Just bought Slaughterhouse Five, Rosemary's Baby, The Thirteenth Tale, the Alexandria Quartet, Finding Camlann and just because SilkStalkings mother wrote it - A Crowded Coffin!

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 31/07/2013 17:02

Similar (if not the same) selection for 99p on the Barnes & Noble site too if you have a Nook.

highlandcoo · 31/07/2013 17:01

Thanks Cherrypi - just bought it!

I recently picked up The Alexandria Quartet, Sea of Poppies and Iris and Ruby, each for under £2.

Cherrypi · 31/07/2013 15:56

Lionel Shriver's new one is 99p too.

Southeastdweller · 31/07/2013 15:01

Some bargains on there at the moment - The Shining Girls, Kiss Me First, The White Queen, and The Fast Diet, to name just a few.

SilkStalkings · 26/07/2013 19:59

Ooh ooh my mum's book is on there for 99p! A Crowded Coffin by Nicola Slade. It's a funny murder.

Cherrypi · 26/07/2013 17:47

Olive Kitteridge is good if you like literary fiction.

CoteDAzur · 26/07/2013 15:35

Thanks for the heads up. I got Boys From Brazil and Rosemary's Baby, both by Ira Levin.

minsmum · 26/07/2013 15:09

Sorry I should have been more specific its Kindle books. Thanks Feenie and Trib for adding the links
