Can I admit to loving the Eddie and the Bear books?

Eddie's off to find his teddy
Eddie's teddy's name is Freddy

I bet I buggered up some of the 's there but I'm doing it from memory

Spidermama · 15/02/2006 14:26

Love it. It's all in the delivery.

Bozza · 15/02/2006 14:26

I'm not talking technical or literary I just like snail and the whale better.

hunkermunker · 15/02/2006 14:25

You can be justly proud of that, HC [in awe of rhyming skill] [DS2 just exploded bottom-wise]

throckenholt · 15/02/2006 14:25

I am not going to be able to read about Muffin Maclay to the kids again without being very careful what I say

another vote for whale and the snail and all Hairy Maclairy books. Don't like the smartest giant - I find it tedious, same goes for Bear Hunt.

My kids love them all

harpsichordcarrier · 15/02/2006 14:24

rhyming is an underrated skill
also scanning
the gruffalo woman is a genius at it
the BAckyardigans have some RUBBISH scanning
e.g. we are suPER VILLians
nonononono
I rhymed Antigua and Swarfega yesterday
it was a proud moment

Gingerbear · 15/02/2006 14:20

DD and I dislike this book. Read once, now languishing on the bookshelf.

Wish I had borrowed from library now rather than bought the dreaded thing.

We like Hairy Maclary from Donaldsons Dairy and any other clever rhyming funny books. (Gruffalo,Snail& Whale, Room on the Broom etc)

hunkermunker · 15/02/2006 14:20

That's one scary-arsed pancake.

harpsichordcarrier · 15/02/2006 14:19

actually sorenlorenson you are sounding a bit codlike in that post
they're all nutters!
also barking!
and odd!

messagedeleted · 15/02/2006 14:19

the panckae has legs

pmsl at an arse made of hay...

harpsichordcarrier · 15/02/2006 14:18

I quite like the nutbrown hare in fact it makes me cry
dd1 is having none of it though, thinks it's a bit sappy
clearly not enough bloody bouncing tigers in it for her

Enid · 15/02/2006 14:17

muffin mclay with an arse made of hay

or something

motherinferior · 15/02/2006 14:17

I personally do not think that being a nutter excuses being eaten, if you'll pardon my anthropomorphism.

Enid · 15/02/2006 14:17

think technically and from a literary pov the snail and the whale prob IS better

but I love love love the giant

harpsichordcarrier · 15/02/2006 14:16

Hercules Morse as big as a horse

Bozza · 15/02/2006 14:16

mould

madmarchhare · 15/02/2006 14:15

Were liking hairy mclarey at the moment. DS has all different barks for all the different dogs. Quite amusing (if hes yours).

Bozza · 15/02/2006 14:14

Well my dislike of Bear Hunt (actually don't mind it any more) is far more rational and logical than yours! So there. It gave DS nightmares about a bear coming to get him so he would wake up in the wee small hours crying.... Obviously he is out of the same mold as Enid's DD2.

I think the Snail and the Whale is better than the Smartest Giant. That's my fave out of the whole series.

madmarchhare · 15/02/2006 14:14

Hate that nutbrown hare as well.

harpsichordcarrier · 15/02/2006 14:13

oh bloody Thomas

harpsichordcarrier · 15/02/2006 14:13

Hairy McLarey from Donaldsons Dairy

madmarchhare · 15/02/2006 14:13

God yes, those Thomas ones are shocking. DS loves them though. I even found myself buying the discounted ones in the supermarket the other day.

Feistybird · 15/02/2006 14:13

snail and the whale definitely trumps smartest giant (I think he's a bit thick)

hunkermunker · 15/02/2006 14:12

Run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm a...pancake?
