I often re-read books musttidyup as I race through them first time then savour them second time round...

musttidyupmusttidyup · 26/08/2011 09:32

Jesus I'm looking forward to piebald's book if it's good enough to read twice!

dinkystinky · 26/08/2011 09:03

As Fat Pat, the Fat Controller of the Clun, I vote for chatting on here about books too. Try not to mention the book title - so just say "Piebalds book" (which btw I've finished and about to re-read again Grin) - I thought xyz - to keep some element of suspense about the clun though...

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 26/08/2011 08:45

Only Just started your book tbh, acsec. Had a pile of library books to get through first! Not read much at all, but I'm intrigued already!.

Swampster, my last book club didn't have individual threads and that didn't work either so I think it might be down to the people in the club rather than the etiquette! Grin I'm happy either way.

kiwijesta · 26/08/2011 05:44

asec I've finished mine too, although it was the sort I'd choose, which for my first book in a couple of months it was exactly what I needed! Thanks to rufus for the great choice!

I was so pleased the baby slept for nearly two hours yesterday morning, perfect reading time snuggled up in bed as the rain hammered down!

swampster · 25/08/2011 23:26

I think book club etiquette calls for individual threads. It didn't really work last time round - no one really bothered to write on/follow all the threads.

However... This is a clun so normal rules don't apply. I vote we all stay here and chat, spoilers amd all.

Good point Afternoons, I don't know the clun ettiquette. How are you getting on with my book?

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 25/08/2011 21:50

Should we start some threads to discuss the books or will we do it on this thread? Just thinking about spoilers. And the fact that this thread will be huge and complicated if we all talk over each other IYSWIM?

musttidyupmusttidyup · 25/08/2011 21:33

That's why I wanted to do the book clun - I need a change but don't really know where to turn. I like that the decisions are being made for me. Glad you enjoyed acsec. Smile

acsec · 25/08/2011 19:49

musttidyup when it arrived I thought "oh no, all the things I would never choose in a book", however once I started it I couldn't put it down - hence the quick finish. Really enjoyed it, thank you for broadening my reading horizons :)

musttidyupmusttidyup · 25/08/2011 19:03

Did you like it acsec?

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 25/08/2011 17:46

Was very late posting my book (today Blush) as I have been ill and not even left the house for about a week! Have PMed JK to say its on its way - that migth prompt her to send her own book! Grin

dinkystinky · 25/08/2011 16:57

Tsk Tsk JK - hurry up with that book or swampster will start e-stalking you...

swampster · 25/08/2011 16:51

I still haven't had my book.

acsec · 25/08/2011 10:36

I finished my book last weekend, feeling a little bereft now! Though I do have lots of books to read before the next book clun one comes :)

dinkystinky · 25/08/2011 09:44

Piebald - I've almost finished the book you sent me. As fat controller of the clun, I can definitely say it doesnt contravene the sci fi ban - but it is a really good book (is making my commute to and from work whizz by) Grin

kiwijesta · 24/08/2011 23:48

It was Rufus who sent it! Thanks again, just got a prod in the back from DH to turn the headlamp off so he could sleep, spoilsport!

kiwijesta · 24/08/2011 23:37

Got my book too, thanks (god I've forgotten who, sorry) and am halfway through it.

Clingingtosanity, hope its not too long, next months is shorter, but I'm really enjoying it!

dinkystinky · 22/08/2011 12:28

Just send on once a month Haribojoe - otherwise we're going to have a book logjam somewhere...

clingingtosanity · 22/08/2011 12:13

My book has just arrived, thanks kiwijesta Smile

Looks fab and I can't wait to get started on it Grin

Haribojoe · 22/08/2011 11:54

can someone remind my dimwitted babybrain, do we send on our books when we've finished them or do we just send them once a month?

piebald · 22/08/2011 10:05

We will all look forward to that then Swampster (oh please dont let it be Dan Brown i have never wanted to read that)

piebald · 22/08/2011 10:02

Thanks ElectricSoftParade, it arrived safely. Thats great i had been tempted to buy it-you have just saved me a fiver!

swampster · 21/08/2011 22:10
