Lately I have read a few great but essentially depressing books and am craving something to brighten my mood...help anyone?

You could do a lot worse than try The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Peeling Society. I've just finished it and found it really uplifting. Very sad too, mind.

If you like autobiographies then David Niven's The Moon's a Balloon is funny and very well written (as is Bring on the Empty Horses).

If you're looking for trash, I recommend Wedding Shoes, by Adriana Trigiani.
