nah, V is best - my bro's is spelt that way! (OTOH have a bro-in-law with a PH!)

yes, agreed that subtle knife was the best. I lost my way a bit in the final one but was still dying to know what happened.

I like the Subtle Knife best of the Trilogy!

Miaou I've read the trilogy, it's a real pageturner isn't it? Quite dark and deep for a children's book I thought, but then I'm just a big scaredy cat wuss!

Also read HP6 exclusively whilst breastfeeding in the first few weeks as she could lie on a pillow and I had 2 hands free not so easy now she's older and more fidgety.

I guess a lot of you have read the DaVinci Code - have you read his others? I loved this and Angels and Demons but the other two (Deception Point and Digital Fortress) were disappointing. They were engaging but the content was just not as enjoyable, I felt. Fans of these books might like Matthew Reilly's Ice Station and Temple - action packed isn't in it... I don't know what his others are like.

Just came on here to add the book I'm reading ... and noticed I've already posted on here!! Am now on The Subtle Knife (second of the trilogy) and really getting into it. I balance the book on my knees while feeding ds and get my reading in that way.

just finished reading Seeking whom He may Devour by Fred Vargas (off the wall French murder mystery). About to read Thud by Terry Prachett.

I've just started Northern Lights (His Dark Materials) - not got into it yet. I'm also reading Instances of Three by Salley Vickers (who wrote Miss Garnett's Angel) - just started that too.

Rowlers - would be interested in what you think of John O'Farrell's book.

Am very much enjoying "I Blame the Scapegoats" - like Bill Bryson's "Notes from a Big Country" it is a series of column pieces so very handy to read a short section whenever you get a minute!

(Plus it is my favourite book title ever )

swedishmum - have you read Jonathan Coe's The Rotters Club (and it has a sequel The Closed Circle). I think he is one of the better modern writers. Also, The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst is well worth a read.

Just read "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, which I first saw mentioned on here a few months ago. Highly recommend it.

The Little Friend - Donna Tartt- highly recommended. Just finished Oryx and Crake - Margaret Atwood. Brilliant but SCARY!

Still trying to finish alan caarr the easy way to stop smoking. For enjoyment im reading The curious incident of the dog in the night-time by Mark Haddon. Its written from the view point of a teenage boy with Asperger's. It's funny and sad!
