(appologies if there is already a thread on this - I couldn't find it)

Anyone applied to do the World Book Night Book Giveaway thingy? still a couple of days to apply.

DH has applied and if he gets given a box of books,I will help him with the giving. I looks like a good selection, we are already trying to work out who should get what.

oh goody, was just looking on here to see if anyone else had recieved anything! Does anyone else wonder why they kept extending the date if they had so many applications? I presumed it was because no-one wanted to do it and thought I was a certainty! Grin

They tweeted nine minutes ago that the emails would be sent v v soon.......

Grabaspoon · 31/01/2011 20:08

I got an email Friday saying they were releasing the details on the 31st.

Nobody appears to have received official confirmation yet however somebody spotted that if you go into the WBN site and put in your email address and postcode you can confirm where you want to collect your books from. So lot's of people have done this and have email confirmation of the collection details but no actual confirmation that they are a Book Giver.

does it give any clues on FB? Would we have heard if we had been chosen?

NL3 · 31/01/2011 18:38

You are not the only one - I cannot figure out why I'm attaching such importance to this but I have spent most of the day checking my email and then checking their FB page. Would be lovely to be a book giver though!!

chocolateshoes · 31/01/2011 18:22

don't know why I'm so excited but I really am - have been checking e-mails all day

chocolateshoes · 31/01/2011 18:12

NL3 · 31/01/2011 18:05

Looks like they've just extended the deadline for sign up to Jan 17th, so its not too late if you want to apply.

28 jan.

VerintheWhite · 04/01/2011 11:05

Do you know when they let you know?

readinginsteadnow · 03/01/2011 21:33

Alan Bennett is top on the list.....

readinginsteadnow · 03/01/2011 21:32

lol, that could potentially be very funny for the people reading the entries Grin

KurriKurri · 03/01/2011 20:58

I wonder what on earth he put for why he liked that book Grin

KurriKurri · 03/01/2011 20:56

Oh I bet that's what he's done reading - he will not read instructions Angry Grin

readinginsteadnow · 03/01/2011 20:47

Have just applied in my name. I went for Cloud Atlas.

TheMonster · 03/01/2011 17:55

It wouldn't work to get one of each because you get 48 yet there are 25 to choose from. I found it hard to choose too.

KurriKurri · 03/01/2011 17:53

That's a good idea BG - I'll do that Smile

BelligerentGhoul · 03/01/2011 17:43

again

BelligerentGhoul · 03/01/2011 17:43

Kurri - you could apply agaon in your name maybe?

KurriKurri · 03/01/2011 17:37

My DH is insisting you get one of each book - and he didn't choose one Confused so I think our chances of getting selected are slim to none Grin

Oh gawd. He completely misread the instructions! Yes you are right 48 of the same book. He chose Toni Morrison's Beloved.
