Sweet Valley Confidential

For all you closet Wakefield fans, I have a treat .............
In my hot little hands, I am clutching a proof of 'Sweet Valley High Confidential - Ten Years On......' No longer just a rumour, we will at last be able to find out what happened when Elizabeth and Jessica eventually grew up.

Did size 6 become size 16? Did cosmetic surgery remedy the mole on Elizabeth's shoulder? Will Todd and Elizabeth ever be together and will Jessica ever find a true love that doesn't tragically die within two months of meeting her?

You'll have to wait until April .......

I used to love them too! My local greengrocers sells second hand books outside the shop. Not sure why but last time I was there they had about 10 Sweet Valley High books for about 30p each. I had a quick flick for old times sake but couldn't bring myself to buy them and then have to explain to DP why I have just bought some very old tatty dated books aimed at 11 year old girls.

I will definitely be reading the confidential book though. Bet it is still saccharin sweet. I bet Elizabeth is married (to Todd) with 2.5 children and waggy tailed lab. Meanwhile Jessica is probably a go getting career girl who dates lots of different men and has an amazing apartment. I hope to be proved wrong!

Yeah, Jessica spiked liz's drink then she & jess's boyf Sam got in a car & had am accident & Sam died. I only remember this as I have read these ones recently Blush

They must have made up though as they are speaking when they go to uni.

MayorNaze · 15/11/2010 09:30

ah it is coming back to me...didn't jessica get elizabeth totally trollied and liz ended up killing someone in a drink driving accident?

or am i making that up?

or did jessica kill someone and let elizabeth take the blame?

am sure somebodies boyfriend (was it the drip-tastic todd?)meets their maker...Confused

I LOVE sweet valley. Have any of you seen the dairi burger? here

it is amazing

Faaamily · 14/11/2010 08:25

Oooh, I loved Sweet Valley High.

I especially loved the strange, exotic combinations of clothing the twins used to wear. Jessica was always getting dressed in combinations like 'the softest leather trousers with a new olive green turtleneck, finished off with a silk, animal print scarf'. It all sounded so glam when I was ten.

I bet Jess is a right go-er these days Wink

StealthPomBear · 14/11/2010 08:22

WHat's the ultimate betrayal??? Oooh please please PM me!

ReformedCharacter · 14/11/2010 07:53

That's a shame. Can't wait to get it though.

BellaBearisWideAwake · 14/11/2010 07:53

I think Amy dies.

She was really annoying (the whole geek to trendy thing she pulled. Still remember the description of what she was wearing when she re-entered SV lif as being 'futuristic' - basically a black tracksuit and trainers. Pah!)

I hope Winston is happy.

madamehooch · 14/11/2010 07:46

Reformed. Think it's just a one off.

ReformedCharacter · 14/11/2010 07:41

Oooh, I'm really excited about this.

Will there be a series of them or is this just going to be a one off?

I really want you to tell me that it will be a series.

madamehooch · 14/11/2010 07:35

BellaBear. Slightly concerned that I started the previous thread as well......

However, that thread was conjecture. The book is now a reality with Elizabeth seeking revenge for Jessica's ultimate betrayal....

To keep us all going, how about Sweet Valley Confidential Cluedo? There is a death in the book. Who? At whose hands? Where? What with?

The answer will be revealed upon publication of the book and the winner can be crowned as the Ultimate Sweet Valley Fan.

P.S. This competition is not open to anyone who has a proof copy of the book..

BellaBearisWideAwake · 13/11/2010 18:32

My mum was so impressed at how much me and my sister were reading. Until she took a closer look that is

StealthPomBear · 13/11/2010 18:31

I think they've targetted it well - the people who read this as teenagers will now be looking back in nostalgia and won't remember how crap it was

BellaBearisWideAwake · 13/11/2010 18:29

there are a lot of grown women who read crap as teenagers

BellaBearisWideAwake · 13/11/2010 18:27

I remember that thread ....

StealthPomBear · 13/11/2010 18:24

There was a thread about this a while ago when a load of us came out of the closet :) Someone linked to the first chapter too.
I want to know why they aren't speaking - will you tell us that much?

madamehooch · 13/11/2010 18:22

OhCrapingHell. There are perks to being a bookseller at Christmas.
