A wee tip that when trading, pokemon nicknames don't show up
So if you are trading something like a scatterbug you need to evolve it or the other person won't have a clue what it is
Especially if it's me try to complete shiny Vivillion

Oh that’s annoying. I have some XXL etc ones I was going to rename so it was obvious what they were. No point if that won’t be seen then.

So if I had a scatterbug and I wanted to trade it specifically to you @Wurz , and I named it something like Wurzelbug, you wouldn't see that name, you'd just see it as Scatterbug?

Yes that's right. Although once it has been traded I can see what it's called so not sure what their thinking is with this 😆

One of you traded me a shiny bisharp and I know your PoGo name but not your MN name. Anyway, I wanted to say a huge thank you because not only is it beautiful which is why I wanted it but also, as I just discovered this morning, it is I believe what is known as a Shundo. Shiny and perfect! It's the first one I have ever gotten and after a difficult week, it's been a lovely discovery. So thank you so much for that!

The key only shows species you don't have so ones like scatterbug, oricorio, castform when there's lots of varieties it doesn't work if you already have one unfortunately

It definitely doesn't work like that on mine. Wish it did as I find it hard to inspect every shiny pikachu to check the colour of tiara and see if I've got it etc 😆

Mine is totally inconsistent, sometimes the shinies will come up as unregistered even though I've got the standard version and other times they won't. There doesn't seem to be any logic to it so just have to check carefully.

I can't work out exactly what the logic is but must be how they register in the pokedex

For example today on a trade it looked like I already had shiny big palkia, which I don't, but I do have the shiny tall one which must be why the key doesn't appear

I don't mind going a bit random with people I can't contact and doing the scatterbug lottery 😆 it's fun

I've tested it between me and LL and the scatterbugs that aren't in your dex do have the key.

It seems to be different for different people unfortunately, which is very strange.
I don't get the key on shiny Vivillion I don't have.
I'll try and find someone so I can screenshot and show what I mean

The one is my shiny dex, where you can see i don't have that particular one

You'll need to tag them with remote trade. The tag only appears when you've got your first forever friend though so just checking you've reached that level with someone?
