Ds has a decent evolved and powered up dynamax team. Mine is very lacking still. I’m not bothering to evolve or power up anything below 90% and certainly not wasting xl candy to power up max strike/guard/spirit on anything below 93%.

I don’t really think there’s any great skill to it. Just get the biggest syntax Pokemon you can and power it up fully.

Generally with beldum I’m left ‘applauding’ because my team is wiped out but still get the win as ds succeeds with his evolved and powered up team.

I figure we have to persevere at the moment or we might get stuck when the higher levels come out and/or when they fix it to be more interesting. At the moment it just seems like a separate way to have to hold on to even more Pokemon. I’m struggling with less than 100 dex spaces left and I’ve already maxed out on storage. I also find I’m driving around trying to squeeze it in before 9pm. I often don’t finish work til after 8pm and just want to get home. So it’s not going to keep me interested for long at this rate.

Charizard with MaxAirstream turns out to eat Falinks for breakfast. Been trying with metagross but mine just dies before I get to the dynamax. (Not sure how you give it max airstream - is it changing the fast attack??)

AlmostLegendary · 08/10/2024 09:05

This might be where I'm going wrong, I didn't get a charizard in time for beldum and then had nothing to take on falinks! The rewards are handy, so I'll probably keep doing the 1 stars anyway.

If anyone is doing a zamazenta raid I want to get one for the showcase, would love an invite.

CornishGem1975 · 08/10/2024 09:03

I really lost my way with this game over the past year because of the sheer amount of different things...routes, parties...now Dynamax, the remote raid passes. I liked it when it was more classic.

PickAChew · 08/10/2024 08:16

The dynamax feels like another thing to do and is ridiculously disconnected from the rest of the game. The XP is useful, though.

I'm wondering how long they will go on releasing them in useful order, eg for beldum you needed charizard and for Falinks you need metagross with psychic moves

ISaySteadyOn · 08/10/2024 07:52

I like the one star battles because I can rack up the xp. But I agree about the falinks and beldum.

How is everyone?

I'm not really getting the dynamax thing, seems to always be unable to collect or unable to store any more max particles. I've got lots of the basic dynamax pokemon, but seem to be miles away from being able to do anything with a beldum or falinks, even though I feel a beldum should be quite easy if they were comparable to raid bosses.

Between taking on gyms, doing raids and dynamax fights it just feels like too many things to keep on top of.

Knotaknitter · 11/09/2024 10:35

Seeing as I paid attention on my morning walk, the boxing gloves are shown on the right, just above the box with your raid team in it. I also spawned a skwovet from a spot where I did a skwovet raid yesterday, when I collected the particles I saw the button on the bottom left hand corner, clicked it and a regular skwovert appeared.

Knotaknitter · 11/09/2024 08:18

Disclaimer - I know nothing. I think the charge boost jobbie will always be there. The number of previous raiders is linked to a damage boost, there's a screen that says "get an attack bonus based on how many raiders are placed at the power spot" and a graphic of boxing gloves (one to four) with the appropriate one shaded. I'm sure we'll know more about it by the time they move to more challenging beasties.

thirdfiddle · 11/09/2024 08:04

Yes you put your magic sheep in. The max thing charges up as you attack, I didn't seem to have a choice about dynamaxing when it got there. I got a little round plus sign thing that I could tap on that helped it charge too - is that related to the previous raiders helping or is it always there?

ISaySteadyOn · 11/09/2024 06:32

I tried to do a Dynamax raid yesterday but I wasn't sure how. Do you put your magic sheep in to fight and dynamax them or do you treat it like a regular raid? Also, how do you dynamax? Just tap the dynamax icon?

Two of mine have earned five candy each for their helping, the other one has seen no action. No guesses which two were left in the centre of the village near Aldi and which was on the edge (but near my house). I thought the battles would be harder but I guess it's to edge us in gently. My charmander will be left out and about as it isn't good enough to sink the candy into - it didn't take me long to get picky.

thirdfiddle · 10/09/2024 21:59

Guessing they'll come back in a couple of days as the pop up gyms move around?

thirdfiddle · 10/09/2024 21:51

I'm assuming it's currently on easy mode for us to learn the system. Yeah, I couldn't really tell how much the previous raiders or my powered up attacks were helping as everything seemed to win everything single handed anyway.

AlmostLegendary · 10/09/2024 21:15

I have a magic turtle now and my magic sheep has earned a candy since I dropped it off. No idea if they get knocked out by themselves or if you have to call them back eventually!

I don't know if the battles will get harder, but they seem a bit too easy, I've not had enough candy to power up, evolve and add moves to my magic pokemon. I've prioritised the moves as otherwise my sparkle storage is always full, but it means I'm fighting with utter rubbish and still winning.

Not loving it so far, but maybe it will improve??

thirdfiddle · 10/09/2024 19:55

Uh-kay, one wander around town on and I have two magic fire lizards and a magic turtle too as well as a spare squirrel and sheep. Some of which got left behind at pink gyms to see if they do anything useful. Possibly help other people who come raiding after me?
Unlike with gyms, you can recall them if it turns out you accidentally left behind the one you taught moves to.

Knotaknitter · 08/09/2024 13:02

I'm sorry to hear that it's not fun for you @gillybean2, My phone crashed whenever I unlocked a dynamax move but that was fixed as of yesterday.

The limit of four trainers will be no problem for me as there are 126 names in the local group about seven who have ever written a word and five that can reliably turn up. We can't put a normal sized raid group together but should get four as three of them will arrive together.

My son caught up with the sheep he didn't get at 1000 max particles, he cashed in the walking reward this morning and it appeared then.

For anyone struggling with candy, I've just traded every wooloo and skwovet with my son, we each got two candy and an XL candy from the trade. The guarenteed XL candy from trades is on to the end of the season.

gillybean2 · 08/09/2024 12:09

I got stuck in the special research reset bug meaning I couldn’t progress the research until they ‘investigated’ and finally fixed it. So I couldn’t collect more pink sparkles and got board of trying to figure it out.

I now have one squirrel and 2 sheep Dynamax but I really don’t get the point at all. Only 4 people can participate on a raid which sounds like it will be local only, you have to take turns…. Seems like another ‘form’ to fill up on Pokédex and I’m maxed on storage already don’t have space for keeping xxl let alone a whole dynamex dex.
Plus my game has been crashing regularly since the update. Getting frustrated with it to say the least.

Tarkan · 07/09/2024 19:20

Thanks @KevinAndHerKits - that's pretty much what I've been doing as it's the only choice I have right now. Thankfully my house is a mini spawn point so I get quite a few popping up here. Just a shame I don't have a pokestop here or I could have put a lure on for a bit too.

ISaySteadyOn · 07/09/2024 18:42

They're all adorable but I can't decide whether I like Grookey or Sobble better.

I'm stuck in the house because I'm ill so I'm just sitting seeing random pink things pop up and know I can't go get them. 🤣 I'm just catching whatever appears around my house for now.

Yes just catch any squirrel and any sheep you see for now to build up your candy, as well as the three new beasties so you can get a hundred and twenty five candies to double evolve them.

AlmostLegendary · 07/09/2024 18:32

I have a magic sheep and a squirrel, but can't get enough candy to use many of the sparkles.

I'm definitely not really getting this bit yet, hoping it will become clearer once the raids are also involved.
