Hello, non-Gamer here, looking for advice about Nintendo Switch for my 8 year old DD. Will she be able to play with her friends? If no friends are online, will she be able to play with other people? Do I need to change anything on my TV? What’s the difference between the normal one and the lite one (does it just weigh less?).

The lite is the handheld one

It's an SD card sized game. Slots the switch.
Get the switch rather than the light, it's more interactive. Just dance has been a huge hit here.

I’m still confused. On the Very website, they’ve got Lites and handheld consoles, but nowhere to put the game in. Where does the game go?

You can play on your own - most games in the traditional console way - put a disk in and go. Switch connects to TV via hdmi slot or switch lite is just handheld. With a switch you can play multi player games - it comes with 2 mini controllers and you can buy more. The mini controllers can also be turned into one larger controller. We have 4 controllers for ours so we can play 1 - 4 player games. You can also download games to play rather than buy cartridges.

Depends what games, but i mostly play on my own - animal crossing, pikmin, mario kart...

yes friends can visit your island on animal crossing, but you mostly do it on your own

Yes you can play games on it by yourself. The switch can be used on the TV and as a handheld device. The lite is only a handheld device and doesn't work on the tv

The difference between the normal one and the lite one is that the normal one will plug into your TV where as the lite one won't!
To play online with friends you need an online membership which you can buy off of the Nintendo store on the switch! I'm not sure about playing with people you don't know etc so sorry about that! Hope this helps a little though!
