I got this for Christmas and I’m in love. Is there a thread/community etc I could join?

I’m usually an AIBU inhabitant so this is a bit new...

We are quite early on in the game and finding it so much fun! Is lovely being able to share an island with my 3 kids. My 10 year old is the main player so we keep having to wait for him to complete tasks to proceed. He still prefers minecraft so it's a bit frustrating! I am busy collecting items, filling the museum and selling stuff to pay off my loans. My 6 year olds just keep spending all their bells on clothes and decorations and get upset that I already have an extension on my house! It's so funny.

Natsku · 19/01/2021 08:05

Turnip predictor things are saying I've got a fluctuating pattern and won't go higher than 148 bells per turnip so if anyone has a higher price than that I'd love to come visit and sell, I'll give you a percentage as thanks.

@Lazydaisydaydream

I’m on my second day playing this game, can see it’s going to be very addictive!! Just wondering if anyone can tell me though whether I can make any fatal flaws now - or am I ok just bumbling along not knowing what I’m doing? Or could I miss one off chances if I’m not on the ball?
Oh god no - there's no way of going wrong! Just bumble, it's a bumbling paradise.

It’s not a game where you can win or lose - just enjoy it however you want Smile If you’re the sort of person who likes collecting things, you may want to look up what fish, bugs and items are available for each time of year so that you don’t have to wait to get them later, but otherwise I suggest you take your time and enjoy it at your own pace. You can always trade with other players for what you want.

@Newnamefor2021 They have to visit you first before you can add them to your best friend list, which is your friend list.

AveEldon · 18/01/2021 22:11

@Newnamefor2021 - one person needs to play the game and open their gate. Then the other person playing on their switch can travel to visit the other island iyswim

Need to add friends from the main switch pages before you can add them in-game if that helps - we're all on the nintendo family plan and are friends no problem.

Yep, all friends on the Nintendo but seems to be no options to add them in the game. It's weird.
Kasaavin · 18/01/2021 18:36

Typical I have to stop playing as I am needed elsewhere. Should be online later on tonight though

glitterelf · 18/01/2021 18:21

We are Smile

Kasaavin · 18/01/2021 18:18

glitterelf · 18/01/2021 16:40

Newnamefor2021 · 18/01/2021 08:56

So friends, my children all have their own switches and two have the game too. We don't seem to be able to be friends. Is it because they are all on the Nintendo family plan? Any idea?

AveEldon · 17/01/2021 21:49

@DemolitionBarbie to trade items you need to visit the other person and then drop the items - they then pick them up
For flowers - if you visit other islands you can buy different flower seeds in the Nooks cranny shop

AveEldon · 17/01/2021 21:47

@toppocket I've not caught one yet - they are more common after 11pm apparently. Top tip is don't wander around holding the net. If they spot the net they will attack you.

ClubSandwich · 17/01/2021 21:00

Book looks great @Paddingtonthebear thanks!

Will add some friend codes if I can work it out!

I’ve shamefully joined loads of Facebook groups where people host island giveaways and give their Dodo codes away for fishing and diving etc. Can’t wait to see her face tomorrow when she sees I’ve got her a hamster cage and a pair of tortoise shell glasses Grin

DemolitionBarbie · 17/01/2021 20:51

How do you actually trade/swap fruit? Can you trade flowers too?

toppocket · 17/01/2021 20:21

Has anyone had any luck catching a tarantula? I've only seen 3 and they sting me no matter how much I've tried!

accidentalparadox · 17/01/2021 20:00

@ClubSandwich my friend code is 2350 3725 0625

Happy to help with fruit etc. Gates are open most evenings

orderingcalmingtea · 17/01/2021 19:47

SW 4762-8436-9598 is me!

Fairly new to the whole thing, so don't expect much from my island Blush

Natsku · 17/01/2021 19:38

I definitely waste a lot of bells on clothes, its like dressing up a doll except fun

DemolitionBarbie · 17/01/2021 19:32

I have friend code SW 6647 3288 3689 if anyone wants...

Paddingtonthebear · 17/01/2021 19:06
