I got this for Christmas and I’m in love. Is there a thread/community etc I could join?

I’m usually an AIBU inhabitant so this is a bit new...

Hi everyone. I have just been through this thread adding all who have posted their code. I only started two weeks ago. I have peaches if anyone wants them. Not much else to offer at the moment as I hadn't realised all the things you can buy to make the town more interesting. I keep buying air tickets in the hope I would find interesting fruit on other islands but so far I haven't! My code is 5546-2322-3036. Add away I have far too much time to play at the moment!

Keep talking. You have to talk to him about 5 times and then he gives you a task. Either digging or swimming and diving for parts.

I got this game for Christmas, along with a switch, from dh.
I appear to be addicted to playing this game every evening now, 😂

Yesterday was a big game in my village - KK Slider did his first concert.

I am absolutely addicted to this game!! I have found Discord is quite good for trading things with other players (if you have Nintendo online) but obviously it’s anonymous so may not want the kids on there, I haven’t had any issues as of yet personally.

A tip I read last night: when visiting mystery islands using Nook Miles, shake every tree - there's always a piece of furniture in one (watch out for wasp nests).
You're safe from wasps if you shake with a net in your hand, so long as you are facing the tree head on, not to the side or behind it. If there's a wasp nest just stay there and swish your net to catch them. Practise safe shaking!

@FrankiesKnuckle when in the shop asking what's for sale you will see the camp items first, pressing R (the Right hand button) will then show you the other items including DIY recipes

I think I might be able to send you one if we became friends? But completely understand you probably don't want to do that with some random from the internet! (I am a very nice, middle aged woman but I would say that!)

I think one will appear in the shop to buy at some stage.

Also was thinking selling non native fruit is good but you also probably don't have that yet either?

I don't think you have started wrong so you can sort this!

My advice would be...

Fish and catch bugs, sell them to make bells. Do this a lot!

Ask Nook for advice about what to do. He will move you through the game with his hints. What is he saying for you to do right now?

Some help please, I have a very dejected 7 year old.
We got a switch for Christmas, she loves all things animal related so thought she would enjoy ACNH.
Neither of us has a clue what to do, how to get bells or a slingshot.
I've said she needs to pick up all she can find.
She plays most days but is now getting quite upset with it as she wants a house! Noting is really progressing.
I think we started it all wrong, we've tried watching tutorials but they don't make much sense for novice gamers like ourselves.
So, some help please!
Basic easy steps to progress, easy tips etc
