Games you can sink a few hundred hours into?

Monster Hunter World Iceborne, I've lost hundreds of hours on that!!

The Sims 4, Minecraft, Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo are all great. Cities skylines is another and if you have a Switch, Animal Crossing.

Elder scrolls on line, 100 upon 100 of hours pissing about aswell as the main quest and side quests, plus the add ons if you want.

Witcher 3

Kingdom Come Deliverance. its slow, quiet, but in depth.

You'd be lucky to get 30 hours out of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon never mind 100.

Final fantasy 14 is my newest MMO and it's just fab. So vast! Warcraft is my go-to time-sink though. Both partner and I play a lot and it's how we met each other. Do you use Steam or GOG or similar? Plenty if new and old games at cheap prices. Theme hospital is always a laugh. Oh oh oh and the Mhst games! Have you ever played them? Amazing scenery, puzzles, clues, quests... Just great!

Yet another vote for Witcher 3 - probs go PS4 over Switch. I play on the Switch and it's great but used to watch brother on PS4 and it looks amazing on there!
Can't beat playing in bed on the Switch though!

You might not make 100 hours, but Mario Odyssey is an amazing game. DS has done 50 on it and nowhere near collecting all the moons.

Final Fantasy - fair few available on the Switch as digital downloads (get a good memory card for it) - 12 is a slow starter but I really really enjoyed when I got into it, X was my gateway drug into the series, and I've got the 15 pocket edition downloaded on there ready to play at some point. I'd wait for an SE e-shop sale though if you can cos they're pricey at full cost.

But Animal Crossing keeps getting in the way.

Civ as well - but I refuse to buy that for yet another format since I own it on Steam for my PC and Mac and also on iPad.

AC Odyssey is an amazing game, but play through as Kassandra. The voice actor is much better than Alexios.

Red dead redemption 2 is also incredible. The other day I had some time to kill so I just loaded the game up and went for a hack around the countryside on my horse. There is so much to do you can easily lose hours on it.

I would rate both of these above the Witcher for fun, storyline and playability.

Sims 4? I enjoy playing for many an hour (real life permitting), I'm a saddo that uses the sims to recreate my own family set up

Another vote for AC Odyssey - the world is gorgeous and huge. DH said it made him want to go to Greece, I thought the opposite - makes me feel I’ve already been to Greece. I got completely into the hunting cultists storyline, but there are also lots of ‘clear out the map’ quests to scratch that itch. Plenty variety in the things Alexios gets called upon to do, and his dialogue is well handled. You get an eagle, a horse and a massive sailing galley.

I played the original FF7 and it was brilliant.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is amazing - it's a very different game to GTA. The main storyline campaign is probably around 20-30 hours if you play straight through without doing anything on the side, but there's so much else to do. I spent most of my time on the game hunting, taming horses and exploring/enjoying the scenery and wildlife interactions. The characters are all fantastic, and the storyline is really immersive.

As per pp, FFVII may be worth a mention too - a single play through is about 40-60 hours, but it has good replay value, and there are several parts to follow. (Though these aren't expected for at least a couple of years yet).

Hi OP, I really recommend Oblivion (the game before Skyrim in the Elder Scrolls series). The graphics do show their age a bit now, but the story and questlines are far superior to Skyrim IMO. You can easily clock 100+ hours and it's so much fun. I can't count the number of times I've played this!
I also recommend The Witcher 3. As others have said, it takes a while to get into it. I didn't enjoy the first couple of hours, but once it opens up (after the quest with a griffin), it's absolutely amazing!
Also, not a hugely long game, but I strongly recommend you buy the Final Fantasy VII remake. It's being released in 3 parts, as the original game and story is so massive. Part 1 is out now for Playstation. (I'm an Xbox gal so I've been watching YouTube playthroughs with envy!)

I’m on my second play through of Red Dead Redemption 2 and finding a whole load of new stuff I didn’t see the first time. Spending far too much time just hunting and catching horses and looking at the scenery. Totally in love with Arthur too, especially the way he talks to his horses.

Tbh World of Warcraft is the best game for wasting absolutely hundreds and hundreds of hours on. It literally never ends and the universe is huge.
