With the upcoming Swinub community day, honouring the year of the pig, it had to be done.

Oops! I forgot to evolve my shroomish to get Breloom with the special move. Annoying because I had a good one, but thought I'd wait to see if I got a better one. But I didn't, and then I forgot about the end of the event.

Belzzjpn · 29/01/2019 22:35

Sorry, should have said - i’m Flipper.

Belzzjpn · 29/01/2019 22:34

Luco006 we’re due to go best friends in two days - would you be happy to wait until Saturday for us as well?

MrsJamin · 29/01/2019 21:59

I got a Kyogre today, with the first ball I threw! I always seem to not be able to catch level 5 raid bosses.
I wonder What's next now the Hoenn event is over. I got about 5 slakoths and hatched another so excited to be able to get a Slaking, finally.

Luco006 · 29/01/2019 21:13

@Junk sorry I missed the message. Can we coordinate - maybe Saturday @10?
@potty would banriish coordinate then?

PanamaPattie · 29/01/2019 20:47

I link the go to my phone and it has to be close to work - it's a Bluetooth link. I use the go instead of walking with my phone in my hand. You could open her account on the app on your phone and link the go. You would catch mon, spin and earn steps. If you are out during the day, using your 4g and your data, you would be doing a lot of work for her!

MonaChopsis · 29/01/2019 20:38

Ah, so you have to have a phone etc with you/it? She's playing on a tablet tethered to my phone, so I was hoping I could link a plus/gotcha to her account but take it out with me during the day while she's at school... Sounds like that might not be possible?!

PanamaPattie · 29/01/2019 20:11

I have the Pokemon Go Plus. I wear it as a watch. It catches mon with red balls and spins pokestops and gyms. My phone stays in my bag. I walk and press the botton. Simple. You only get one ball to catch, so you could miss some.

MonaChopsis · 29/01/2019 20:00

Do any of you have a Pokémon Go Plus, or a Pokémon Go-Tcha? Do you rate them? My DD has started playing and I was considering getting her one or the other as a birthday present...

PickAChew · 29/01/2019 18:51

If the current trend continues, 49-50 would probably require 50 million XP.

I'm level 40 and don't even have half of that in total, yet! I know there are players who have that many times over but they tend to spend lots of money on the game and probably don't have a life

I know you're not the CEO of Niantic, Wailmer, but surely getting to level 50 would need an insane amount of XP? Grin

SneakyGremlins Yes, it probably would!

I hope they introduce ultra friend/best friend long distance trading.

I personally don’t think they will. Even with ultra/best friend status, it opens the trading system up to abuse.

Talking of levels, Wailmer do you think they will ever go beyond level 40?

bettytaghetti Yes, I believe they will eventually. Several people have had discussions with John Hanke (founder and CEO of Niantic) where they say he’s mentioned it will be increased at some point.

It’s also worth noting they have added levels to Ingress, another Niantic game, and even when you’re level 40 you can still see your XP increase.

Congrats Mona!

Wow well done Mona!

MonaChopsis · 29/01/2019 16:37

So excited! Only a mere 5 million to go Grin

What are the gyms/pokestops like at Echo Arena/Albert Dock, anyone know?

BaronessBomburst · 29/01/2019 13:48

Thank you Wailmer! I've been trying to get to the bottom of that for a while now.
I think if I have two similar Pokémon I'll just go for the one with the highest attack then.

Which pokemon will outclass it?

pottypotamus Most certainly Zekrom and Thundurus.

How much would the attack stats come into play? If one had an attack of 11 and the other of 15 what would that mean in real terms in a gym/ PVP battle? The move set does the damage so how does the attack strength work?

BaronessBomburst While it may sound like a simple question, the answer is extremely complex!

So when your Pokemon attack, they deal damage based on the following:

• The attacking Pokemon's base attack, attack IV, and level

• The defending Pokemon's base defense, defense IV, and level

• The attacking Pokemon's damage multipliers (STAB) and defending Pokemon's type disadvantages

So your damage is calculated by:

Floor (½PowerAttack/DefenseSTABxEffectiveness) +1

And when you know your damage output you can divide that by your move cool down to get DPS.

So TrueDPS = Damage/Duration

TL;DR To simplify it, the moveset does the damage based on the combination of factors above, so the lower the attack stat is, the less damage will be done.

A high attack stat is extremely important if you want to use the Pokemon as an attacker in battles.

TallulahBetty · 29/01/2019 11:11

Attempted a solo Kyogre raid this morning just for the lols. What a waste of time and revives Grin

pottypotamus · 29/01/2019 08:53

Thanks Wailmer. I only have about 60 candy. So walking with it at the moment and desperately seeking out the field research for electabuzz.

I have a level 15 Electabuzz - 93% IV and a Level 20 with an IV of 89%. Which do you think I should evolve into Electivire?

pottypotamus It depends how much candy and stardust you have, and if you’re planning on powering it up. To evolve costs 100 candy, and to take a Pokemon from Level 15 to Level 20 it costs 21,400 dust and 20 candy.

Electivire does have better DPS than Raikou, but it doesn’t have a second type and it will soon be outclassed, so I wouldn’t advise powering it up beyond level 20 (if you go for the level 15 93%, which I would) or at all (if you go for the level 20 89% one).

So my recommendation is to choose the 93%, power it up to level 20 and stop there Smile
