DS has an activity thing at a school a couple of miles away. I gave him my phone and asked him to spin pokestops whilst I drove, even going through the town to maximise my chances.
I left the house with about 10 pineapps and 4 great balls.
I'm now sat in a stinky gym changing room, no pokestops in the vicinity, looking at 1 pineapp, and 2 red pokeballs.
There are also 2 new torchics in my Pokébox. Torchics are DS bete noir. They never stay in for him.
I was expecting to have at least 40 balls!

Ah soubriquet I get either a snubbull or mankey outside my house nearly everyday. And once I caught a primeape. Funny how diferent it all is.

Just been on the other side of town and could see lots of militank shadows and now I'm home there are none around. Grr.

WitchSharkadder Either/or really; the app isn’t for children and it isn’t aimed at them. It’s just a bonus for parents to allow their children to play along with them.

Safety and security is so important when it comes to technology and old phones and operating systems cannot be secured.

The app is only 9+ Wailmer. I haven’t been affected by the update but I don’t think DC4’s phone has long. He won’t be happy

Anyone been affected by the latest update which now means those with older Android phones can't play. Children often play on their parents old phones and now it won't load on our Android 4.4.2 phone. (My own phone is fine I'm pleased to say but DH's old account is no longer playable )

GreenShadow The thing is, while it does suck, apps have to constantly update their security features, and there comes a point where old phones and old operating systems are too old to be secured safely enough, and so they are no longer supported and stop working.

Also, it isn’t a children’s game. It’s not geared towards children at all, but parents can allow those 13+ to have a supervised account.

Hurrah! I got a Lugia in my 7 day field research thing, so now I have them all. Took sooo many balls to catch though, must have been apx 30. No newbies here either. They sometimes pop up on my nearby, but always at night so I can't go get them, especially as they aren't particularly 'nearby.

Ah I’m liking the new event.

Mankey is like hens teeth around here. I’ve only ever found one and that was 30 miles away on holiday.

I’ve been walking it to get my primeape but it’s been very slow going. Nice to see they are going to spawn more.

What I’m curious about is why there is sometimes a heart and a WiFi signal attached to the photo disc of a gym. Anyone know? no, but I’d like the answer, also to know why some gyms displaying the WiFi signal cause the game to crash on my phone

You can check in the Pokédex.
I'm going for 1,000 shelder as they spawn throughout the day on the dining room radiator. It'll take a while.

I noticed when I was just caught a Rattata, I got 200XP collector bonus as well as 200XP for catching it.

What is the collector bonus? I've never noticed it before.
