I'm looking forward to getting my first Sinoh stone to be able to evolve my 100%, maxed out (for L38) Rhydon Grin

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 15/11/2018 11:31

I'm a single parent, with other intetests, who just about has time to actually play the game, never mind spend however long on google every day, looking for news about the game? The news feature in game is usually enough for me..? (And why it's there..?).

The news is readily available in various places (I even posted it here). It is not their fault if you aren’t up to date.

I understand that a Blissey with 1999 CP, is going to go down faster than a Blissey with 2364 CP or 2757 CP? That's just common sense..?

The game isn’t that simple. It all depends on movesets, type, weather, level, IV, powering up and so on.

Just thought, if Arcanine isn't any good for battles, why has it's cp gone up so much? Surely if it's no good for battles, it would have been adequate as it was..?

I shall say it again: CP isn’t the be all and end all. A high CP doesn’t mean a lot; it just means it’s a high level, which doesn’t help in terms of stats, game mechanics and excellent performance in raids and battles. High CP is useless on any Pokemon if when you’re fighting you’re not using all the tools at your disposal as mentioned above.

Arcanine isn’t useless and can be used in battle, however it isn’t worth powering up and many Pokemon far outclass it in terms of stats and movesets.

"Rare candies are best spent on legendary Pokemon you have few candies fororPokemon you will battle with that are in need of powering up. Arcanine falls into neither of those categories."

"You not keeping up with the news Niantic releases isn’t their fault."

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 15/11/2018 10:39

No one told me about it?

TheLazyDuchess You not keeping up with the news Niantic releases isn’t their fault.

So what's Blisseys new max cp? Mine wasn't maxed out yet, would be nice if I could even get it back to roughly the cp it was? (And if I can, what was the point..?)

That depends on your level. For level 20, it’s 1575; for level 30 it’s 2364 and for level 40 it’s 2757.

I don’t think you understand game mechanics or how the stats work in general, which is fine, not everybody needs or wants to, but CP isn’t the be all and end all of a Pokemon.

Blissey’s stats (HP and defense) have changed (which ultimately has affected CP). Maxing our Blissey thankfully won’t ever make them as powerful as before due to this; they were unfairly advantaged.

Only I don't have any legendary pokemon, because I don't get out to raid much, because of DS.

That’s fine, that’s why I added the “or”. Although legendary Pokemon have been available over the summer in research rewards so I assumed most players have at least one from those.

And Arcanine's been my favourite pokemon from I was about 10 years old..? Although the new cp isn't satisfying to me, because it just appeared? I put no thought or effort into it, so it doesn't please me the way powering up did? Iyswim.

Okay, we all have our favourite Pokemon. However, Arcanine doesn’t require that many candies, isn’t too rare, is easily walked and isn’t that great in battle; hence my reasons behind using rare candies on it being a waste.

TheLazyDuchess · 15/11/2018 10:28

"The stat rebalance has been known about for weeks"

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 15/11/2018 10:20

But most players above lvl 30 have a Blissey? Only an advantage against those that don't have them (newer players)?

I missed this. It’s nothing to do with an advantage in terms of having a Blissey vs. not having a Blissey. Blissey was unfairly advantaged stats wise and needed to be nerfed in order to work correctly with future game mechanics like PVP.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 15/11/2018 10:18

TheLazyDuchess All Pokemon have had a stat rebalance to make them work better within the current and future game mechanics.

The stat rebalance has been known about for weeks, so nobody should have been doing any major Pokemon changes.

You shouldn’t be using rare candies on Pokemon like Arcanine anyway as it’s a waste. Rare candies are best spent on legendary Pokemon you have few candies for or Pokemon you will battle with that are in need of powering up. Arcanine falls into neither of those categories.

The logic in why the stat rebalance has occurred is extremely complex. It’s not been done lightly or for the fun of it.

Also, everyone is just going to power their Blisseys back up again, if/when they can?

Max CPs have been altered, so no. Your Pokemon still retain the same power relative to their CP.

TheLazyDuchess · 15/11/2018 10:01

So what about the other pokemon they changed? Like my shiny pinsir that lost a lot of cp/while my regular pinsir (that was already way higher cp than the shiny) went up in cp? Confused Where's the logic in that? I've seen people commenting in a few places that lots of new players were complaining gyms battles are too hard, because of pokemon like Blissey?

"PVP is coming, and certain Pokemon eg. Blissey were just ridiculously advantaged."
But most players above lvl 30 have a Blissey? Only an advantage against those that don't have them (newer players)?

I feel quite shafted either way, cracked and used a lot of rare candy last week, and it feels like that was all for nothing/pointless? Take Arcanine, I used 3 rare candies to power it up, needn't have bothered and wish I hadn't since it's cp has went up so much. Also, everyone is just going to power their Blisseys back up again, if/when they can?

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 15/11/2018 09:48

Got shafted on the likes of Rhydon, Golem and Blissey, to satisfy new players and make niantic more money.

TheLazyDuchess No, it’s nothing to do with satisfying new players or making Niantic more money.

The stat rebalance was needed because PVP is coming, and certain Pokemon eg. Blissey were just ridiculously advantaged. It would make PVP pointless and they couldn’t take Blissey out the game, so a stat rebalance was in order.

TheLazyDuchess · 15/11/2018 08:41

Sorry on, hp

TheLazyDuchess · 15/11/2018 08:38

Mine are all different, pokemom like Pinsir and Golduck now have huge HP's, over 2200, but my Blissey that took me forever to evolve and that I spent a fair amount of rare candy, has lost over 1500 cp!

Got shafted on the likes of Rhydon, Golem and Blissey, to satisfy new players and make niantic more money. And this is the second time they've done this? Bastards, I'm raging.

BaronessBomburst · 15/11/2018 08:12

All my Pokémon do indeed seem to have juggled around a bit. A Xatu has shot up the list.
Another weird thing happened too: an egg hatched last night, out popped a Swablu, only she wasnt at full health. I had to give her two potions to top her up another 26 points. 93% though so I didn't mind too much.
Several new pokestops have appeared in town but the ones local to my work were behaving very strangly yesterday. I hope they're still there........

BouleBaker · 15/11/2018 08:01

It’s certainly a Mother of a Rhyperior. Powered him up now.

I don't like Kricketot, oh no, I love it, yeah
TallulahBetty · 15/11/2018 08:01

Mother Rhyperior GrinGrinGrin

TangelaHair · 15/11/2018 07:11

You could set up a baby account and trade with that. I made one on DHs phone to do a trade with. Have to get it to level 10 but that's quite quick.

BaronessBomburst · 15/11/2018 06:56

Oooooh.
Is that a Mother Rhyperior?

BouleBaker · 15/11/2018 06:13

Ooohhhhhh

I don't like Kricketot, oh no, I love it, yeah
BouleBaker · 15/11/2018 05:57

Oooh, I’m due my field research breakthrough today. Which one shall I evolve? I’ve got most of them but think I’ll go for Rhydon, Dusclops or Porygon2. Just hope I get a Sinnoh stone now.

tumpymummy · 15/11/2018 00:27

Oooh! Not sure if I like these CP readjustments. My Blisseys, that I have walked loads for candy have dropped loads as has my slaking. Whereas my Dragonites and gyrados have gone up, so now some are over 3000CP. My Blisseys were my go to defending pokemon whenever I win a gym and I put my Pokemon in. They don't look so strong now.

PickAChew · 14/11/2018 23:31

The cp adjustment has filtered through. My cp1000 collection before and after!

I don't like Kricketot, oh no, I love it, yeah

PickAChew · 14/11/2018 23:07

Not all at once, though. The sinnoh stone is dropped with your weekly research breakthrough.

SneakyGremlins · 14/11/2018 22:39

I CAN EVOLVE SHINY MURKROW AND SHINY ROSELIAAAA

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 14/11/2018 22:17

Oh no, do we have to meet people in real life to trade?

HannahnotAgnes Yes, you need to be within 100m of someone to trade with them.

Trades also cost more stardust if you aren’t high friendship with them.
