It would appear to change during seasons as in Pokemon Origins it’s Coo-bone.

I have personally always pronounced it Q-bone though 🤷‍♀️

WickedLazy · 06/11/2018 20:42

^Scene from Indigo League where they say Cubone a few times right at the start

How do you pronounce cubone? It's bugging me...cub-one? Q-bone? Q-bon-nay, Italian style...

JuniLoolaPalooza It’s pronounced Coo-bone.

CookieSwirlC · 06/11/2018 19:41

I evolved my one shiny Ponyta but thought it’s colour was a lot better than the shiny Rapidash and instantly regretted it!

JuniLoolaPalooza · 06/11/2018 19:39

I can't believe how many ponyta I caught today and no shiny.

All my DCs have a shiny Ponyta and I don’t

I did get a shiny cubone but I would’ve preferred the ponyta. Shiny Rapidash is so pretty.

I keep at least one of every Mon but always the highest IV one. The good battlers I try and get as many 90% plus ones as poss.

I want a shiny Ponyta!

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 06/11/2018 17:30

Managed to get a couple of shiny ponytas and a shiny cubone today. Was a nice mum and gave a ponyta to DD. Holding off on evolve in case I get a really good one never going to happen

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/11/2018 17:08

BaronessBomburst Yeah, it would suck to have limited access to pokestops and gyms so I feel you there!

Thankfully my DH is into the game as much as me so we spend a lot of time Pokehunting together Smile

BaronessBomburst · 06/11/2018 17:03

I need perfect pokes! It's only DS and me in raids. We need to crack level 4s.

PickAChew · 06/11/2018 17:01

IVs.

BaronessBomburst · 06/11/2018 17:01

Actually, Wailmer I completely agree with you!
I started out playing just to catch them all and wasn't interested in raids and battles. Now I've got much more into the game itself and filling up the Pokédex is a sideline. However, living semi-rurally and having limited time to spin stops (I'm the one driving!) mean I just don't get enough balls or Pokémon.
Also, I think DH might divorce me....... Grin

PickAChew · 06/11/2018 17:01

Is only truly matter if you're short manning high tier raids or find revives hard to come by.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/11/2018 16:45

tryingtocatchthewind You should get lots of Cubone candy during this mini-event so you should be able to evolve more than one if you want Smile

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/11/2018 16:43

Strange that the community day announcements doesn't mention shiny Cyndaquil. I'm sure it will be available, but still

TallulahBetty They never confirm community day shinies until very, very near the day (if they do at all). We usually see the sprites via data mining so we know they’re coming.

tryingtocatchthewind · 06/11/2018 16:42

I mean IV, it’s only 25% on pokegenie. I’ll keep it as it’s shiny and pretty but I only have enough candy for one evolution so I’ll evolve the higher standard one.

I know; that’s just my way Smile

There’s nothing wrong with playing the game however you want; there are various ways to play and many different goals you can set yourself.

I understand not having such high criteria as 90%+ IV, but I don’t understand using rare resources like stardust and candies in lower IV Pokemon because it’s pointless. You power up to battle... and there’s little point battling with poor IVs. And if you’re not battling, you shouldn’t be powering up.

That’s not aimed at anyone though because nobody has actually said they do that; it’s just an addendum to my previous comment.

SneakyGremlins · 06/11/2018 16:19

Grin everyone plays differently Wailmer!

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/11/2018 16:10

I have far lower standards! Anything over 60% stays.

Shock

DS wants to know if you'd transfer a sub-90% Mewtwo?

If I couldn’t trade it, yep. I had several Mewtwo before they were released to the general public so any poor IV ones were offered up for trade or transferred.

It is very, very important to me that I only have good Pokemon. I think anything lower is just taking up space and I think it would be foolish to invest stardust and candies in sub-par Pokemon.
