Yes. The second a gift is opened on the right day, the XP bonus will be triggered for both parties.

You may be able to put a lucky egg on in time if you know they’ve opened it while you’ve not been in game and you’re quick, but not always.

My first lucky Pokemon! Dh has just started playing for me, I traded him a decent Pokemon to use in gyms and out of everything he could send me is a bloody Mr Mime!

SneakyGremlins Lucky! Chimecho are exceedingly rare. Only slightly ahead of Unown in rarity as you have the ability to hatch them.
