We have a fair few lurkers on this thread as well as casual players who may have missed all the information that will be shared if you give your trainer code out.

Like I said, it’s fine if you’re happy to give that info out, but not everyone will be, and I would hate to think anyone gets caught out. Especially since we don’t know whether you’ll be able to remove friends.

Will you be able to find people close to you who are open to swaps, etc? I don’t know anyone who plays but am happy to bumble round a city trying to swap stuff with people nearby.

My top tip:

You'll only get an Alolan egg in a gift sent to you IF you already have a gap for it in your egg storage.

With a friends cap of 200, I'm happy hookah up with a few randomers too.

I also don’t have any “real life” Poke-friends but I’ve just joined the local FB group so that may change!

I live in a major city so giving gifts from e.g. major train station, object on main shopping street, wouldn’t be giving much away.

SneakyGremlins Nope. You get gift boxes from PokeStops, random chance like any other item, and then you send it to a friend.

What comes out is random. You’re hoping for an Alolan egg, though, as those eggs will be the only way to obtain those Alolan Pokemon.

I probably won’t be giving out my code; we have a large raid group for a small town and there’s a friends cap. So there is little point for me personally giving it out.

Since it’s a new thread, remember guys: If you are giving your trainer code out and sending gifts, you will be sharing your location. If you’re okay with that, go ahead (but be careful!).

Also happy to send gifts to players in the sticks who run short of balls/revives etc

I am also happy to give out my code, or I will be when I get one! (Am currently level 30). I don't know any other players in real life so am not super bothered about only giving to people I know!!
