So excited for Shiny Articuno day! Lots of XP to be gained here.

Our group is meeting up and starting at one end of town and working our way down Smile

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 07/07/2018 08:55

TangelasVine It’s nothing to do with play style, like I said, else I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

I’m not trying to control what people post. Anyone can post whatever they want, but if it’s wrong or obviously bullshit, I am going to point that out because not doing so is unhelpful to other players.

Egg wise, I am deliberately not getting normal eggs at the moment. My Dex’s are as complete as possible, so I want Alolan eggs to get Vulpix.

So as soon as I finish walking one set of Alolan eggs (I’ve set them up to hatch in groups of 5 and 4), I open a load of gifts and put another set on.

If I forgot and spun a PokeStop and got an egg from it, I’d be very disappointed whether that was 2, 5 or 10km.

TangelasVine · 07/07/2018 06:36

Whattodo ok you're not going to agree to disagree Grin playing this way suits me. It's a chat room on mumsnet about a game so you don't have total control over what people post.
I know you'll reply again telling me off so I'll just have to ignore it or it'll fill up the thread and there are other things to talk about.
PS I've got 4 10k eggs in the last 2 days Wink (lighthearted!)

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 07/07/2018 00:45

TSR has done some research on Alolan eggs and found the following hatch rates:

• 27.6% for Rattata, Meowth and Sandshrew

• 13.8% for Grimer

• 3.4% for Vulpix

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 07/07/2018 00:13

TangelasVine Like I said, everyone should play how they want, whether that be casual or hardcore.

I don’t think spreading ‘theories’ with no evidence is the same as sharing how you play, though. The former can negatively affect people’s gameplay, whereas the latter I wholeheartedly encourage as by sharing the different ways we play we can enhance each other’s experiences.

So, does anyone else hoard pidgeys and wait for double xp events to evolve them or is that just me?

LumpySpacedPrincess I do similar Grin I collect Pidgey and Whismur and name them ‘Evolveme’. Then when I raid I put on a lucky egg, do the raid and spend the rest of the time mass evolving Pidgey, Whismur, Wurmple, Weedle, Caterpie etc.

I don’t wait for double XP events, but it gets me loads of XP as I catch everything and raid a lot so it’s great to combine the two Smile

PickAChew · 06/07/2018 23:24

I just hard pidgey candy. Had 700 candy this evening and evolved the 30 pidgey I'd caught since they were back in the game, after the last event had ended.

My only gripe about the Pikachu is that they replace easier to catch evolvables.

You can delete event Pokémon, just individually, the old way, from their own page.

Yay storage increase! Smile

So, does anyone else hoard pidgeys and wait for double xp events to evolve them or is that just me?

TangelasVine · 06/07/2018 20:14

Well everyone is intelligent enough to read the thread and play how they see fit. I'm still going to share how I play so let's agree to disagree. It's pokemon not AIBU!

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/07/2018 19:16

LumpySpacedPrincess Apologies; a mistype on my part! It’s Pokémon storage that’s being increased to 2000, not bag storage Smile

TangelasVine I’m not starting an argument; I’m just erring on the side of caution when it comes to sharing these ‘theories’ with new/returning/casual players.

You can’t advise for or against anyone collecting 10km eggs, because you get what you’re given and you’re stuck with them. You have to hatch them whatever they are! Like a pp said, it would be nice to be able to delete eggs. And I already agreed with you on aligning and hatching eggs together where possible.

Theories and rumours can affect gameplay, and most of the time they’re bullshit.

TakeAChanseyOnMe · 06/07/2018 19:00

Actually I’ve just found out that it’s only with bulk transfers that you can’t select them! Individually you can thankfully. Bye bye 9 party hat Pikachus!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 06/07/2018 18:50

Increased my bag size to 2000 a while ago, that's been the case for some time. Got me first Vulpix, whoop, whoop! Evolved to a ninetail, just need another so I can have one of each. Caught 2 hat chu's as well.

OrianaBanana · 06/07/2018 18:14

I’ve transferred mine?

TangelasVine · 06/07/2018 18:13

Whattodo I said in my original post that's it's urban myth and a fun theory.
Please read my posts properly and stop picking arguments where there are none.

It's not dangerous for new players to collect 10k eggs. They are usually the best ones. And if you hatch a load together with a star piece that means more star dust.

rainingcatsanddog · 06/07/2018 18:12

You can delete them. You know that screenshot 3 posts down? Press the bottom right and Transfer from that screen. You can't delete more than one in a go from the page which lists your Pokemon

SneakyGremlins · 06/07/2018 18:10

You can't delete them????

TakeAChanseyOnMe · 06/07/2018 18:05

I made the mistake of catching as many party hat Pikachus not realising that you can’t delete event pokemon! I have 10 clogging up my storage!

OrianaBanana · 06/07/2018 18:01

One good one fled but I caught a rubbish one!

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/07/2018 17:59

TangelasVine I completely agree! Everyone should play the game however they want. I play the game hardcore, but I get an immense amount of fun out of it too.

I just don’t think it’s helpful for newer players to be told theories as they will most likely take them to be true. If you have your own theories with no evidence then that’s fine, but it can affect other players gameplay (particularly new players, those rejoining the game or even casual players) if they believe one of these theories that just isn’t true.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/07/2018 17:55

It would also appear Pikachu in his new hat has been released earlier than expected as my entire nearby is filled with funny shaped Pikachu shadows Grin

TangelasVine · 06/07/2018 17:52

But other people like me play the game for fun and everyone can play how they like. Continuing with my 10k egg hunt isn't up there with dangerous conspiracy theories and I'm sure David Icke isn't involved. It's harmless and affects no one else but me.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/07/2018 17:51

In honour of Pokemon Go’s second birthday, available bag storage that you can buy is being increased to 2000 Smile

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 06/07/2018 17:44

TangelasVine I didn’t mean the game didn’t know what you had, I meant there’s no logical in game connection between what egg is in your bag and subsequently that determining what egg will drop.

Yeah, Pokemon Go is a game, but it’s a game with a heck of a lot of complex coding.

I’m not really into the ‘conspiracy theories are fun’ thing. It’s like when you used to get certain people at raids going “Let X throw their balls first, they’re more likely to catch if everyone else waits!” Um, no mate Hmm

I do like to align as many eggs to hatch at the same time as possible, though. Time it right with a lucky egg and a star piece and you’re laughing, especially with this event on!

TangelasVine · 06/07/2018 17:27

Brilliant soup Grin

TangelasVine · 06/07/2018 17:26

The game does know what you've got. It's in your inventory!
Anyway like I've said numerous times its a rumour and fun to hatch all at once for maximum stardust.
And er....it's a game Wink
