New ones are shorter. I have a 5km in a speedy incubator that now has a 1.7 walking distance.

TangelasVine · 17/07/2018 07:45

My eggs are still on normal distance

rainingcatsanddog · 16/07/2018 17:25

Starts at 9pm uk time.

I got an egg from Macau and it was a Rattata. Angry Id like a second Vulpix as I evolved mine but otherwise I’m focusing on the usual eggs.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 16/07/2018 15:34

Alolan Vulpix is pretty much the only reason I'm still trying on those eggs! My Dd is desperate for a Snowy, but as she only really gets a bit of weekend play the chances are against her. Though knowing my luck she probably will get one in her next hatch and I'll still be waiting.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 16/07/2018 15:20

Now I have all the Alolan Pokemon in eggs (although still only one Vulpix) I’m mixing my eggs so half Alolan and half regular.

My Alolan hatch stats are as follows:

Rattata: 20 (26%)
Mewoth: 19 (24%)
Sandshrew: 22 (28%)
Grimer: 16 (21%)
Vulpix: 1 (1%)

Total hatched Alolan Eggs: 78

SneakyGremlins · 16/07/2018 15:06

I've walked 7km today to hatch an alolan egg.

Fucking rattata Angry

PickAChew · 16/07/2018 14:36

I'm still angling for alolan vulpix. Hoping that this week's hatching distance bonus helps. If not, then I'm done!

Another one generally not opening gifts when there's an egg slot available. I've got >90% examples of all the Alolan types that hatch, and have had enough of rattatas and meowths.

I make an exception for gifts from friends abroad/MNers who live miles away, though - I'm after my pilot gold medal for trades now!

I love the way PoGo always has some challenge you can be working on, and all the recent events are ace.

5 shiny minums & 13 shiny plusle Grin

rainingcatsanddog · 16/07/2018 11:38

2km eggs contain the chance of Pichu with the current hat so go for it!

tryingtocatchthewind · 16/07/2018 10:32

Wow yeah you’re all way more serious than me. I’m a little lost with talk of levels and IVs but learning as I go.
Bit less excited about my lovely yellow 7km egg now.
But thanks for all my gifts, one from the Isle of Wight how exciting!

MrsJamin · 16/07/2018 09:59

I got my first alolan rattata from an egg this morning, very annoying why they added them when they are two a penny. I too will not be opening a gift when I have an egg space available. I caught a load of stuff on the way to work this morning and they are all dreadful IV, I ditched all them already. Boo!

TangelasVine · 16/07/2018 09:08

Same here, I don't open a present when there's an egg space at the moment! If they add ones to the Alohan eggs then I'll change that tactic but got them all at the moment and too many rats.
Unless they are tiny - I still need a few more for that pesky medal!

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 16/07/2018 07:59

Well done always

Thanks pick. I feel needlessly inexperienced despite being level 34 now Blush. TBH I was a massive hoarder and am just beginning to deal with that, pokemon wise at least.

Those bloody rats do my head in. They're all over the place here, I don't need to walk 7km to get one!

DoctorTwo · 16/07/2018 06:53

I am getting heartily sick of hatching rats and cats from 7km eggs. I might start spinning stops to get 2, 5 and 10km eggs just for a change.

BouleBaker · 16/07/2018 05:44

Well done always.

I got a shiny Plusle too andhad to check, it looks no different!

OhLookHeKickedTheBall I have lots of pairs of Pokémon like that, ones high IV but low level, and another one of lower IV but much higher level. I haven’t been able to decide which to keep so I’m keeping both until I get one of high IV ad high level. Basically I’m very indecisive.

PickAChew · 15/07/2018 23:58

OhLook, for something like a machamp that I would be willing to spend stardust on, I'd choose IV. For something like a Walrein, which I would never power up but might use as cheap gym fodder, I'd go for level, or simply whichever had the higher cp.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 15/07/2018 11:46

Thanks rogue. I suspected that may be the case with IV being more important. Tbf it's only the odd few cases where its not been simple to figure out who to turf out! Eventually I may even get around to only keeping strong ones. Baby steps Grin

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 15/07/2018 10:45

What's the best thing to look at, IV or level?

OhLookHeKickedTheBall IV is the important one because you can’t change it, whereas you can change the level by powering up.

I would always advise caution against evolving and/or powering up any Pokemon under Level 20, simply because of the candy and dust cost.

To take a Pokemon from Level 20 to Level 30, it costs 66 candies and 75,000 dust, but to take a Pokemon from Level 15 to Level 30, it costs 96,400 dust and 86 candies, so quite a bit more.

I personally don’t keep any Pokemon with an IV lower than 90% as I feel anything under is just far too low.

YMMV but anything below 82% is really getting low.

The difference between IV and Level is that IV is how good a Pokemon is, whereas Level is how much it has reached its potential (if you look at the arch you can see the higher the level the further along the arch it is). So yeah, IV is important because that cannot be changed, whereas the level can be.

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 15/07/2018 09:49

I'm finally having a clear out of my pokemon and am trying to keep the good ones. Using pokegenie for IV and levels. What's the best thing to look at, IV or level?

For instance is a 72IV level 27 pokemon worth keeping over a 67IV level 35 one of the same pokemon? Or an 89IV level 22 better than a 91IV level 20 - same pokemon again?

I'm not doing anything with those examples yet as I'm unsure!

Thanks
