soupforbrains Our WhatsApp group has also successfully predicted ex-raid spots and pass drops for a while now.

Infrequent players can get passes if they listen to the frequent players who have put in the time and effort to work out when and where ex passes will come from. Or just coincidence.

You often see casual players come out of the raiding woodwork when the words “it’s an ex-raid location” are mentioned

what like I've said my discord group have successfully predicted ex raids consistently for months. We track recipient stats too. It's a fair mix of really regular and very infrequent players. Obviously people who do more raids have fingers in more pies as it were but generally speaking it's not overly skewed to frequent raiders in particular.

soupforbrains Ahh yeah, it was in very early beta back then. They’ve since changed the parameters as well as made it slightly easier, while still keeping it suitably hard

what no it wasn't. It was before that. November. That incident was what I was referring to as the 'glitch' I did get a pass in that wave too though, thankfully for a gym that was local though. 😂

I probably only average one raid a week so presumably don't stand much of a chance then.

GreenShadow It’s possible but there’s such a slim window your chances will be small. Mewtwo is one of the most sought after Pokemon ever, it’s extremely powerful and rich in Pokemon history, so they only give people the chance of catching him as a reward for their efforts in frequent raiding.

soupforbrains Was that when Niantic admitted they made a mistake and sent out passes to people who hadn’t been raiding (much/at all) recently? And gave many people passes they’d only visited once on holiday hundreds of miles away as well? 😂

Everything what said is accurate but don't feel too despondent. People who don't raid much can still get passes. I know several.

How well coordinated are the PoGo players in your area? Are you on a discord group? In my area the discord group have successfully identified which gyms have received Ex passes in te last 4 months of pass waves (bar the glitch wave)

GreenShadow There are very specific parameters for getting ex-Raid passes. You generally have to raid a lot (Niantic recommend doing lots of raids in different places as well as known ex-raid spots to increase your chances).

The long and short of it is that you have to raid an ex-raid gym in a small time window (one to two weeks), but the time windows aren’t clear. You can get close by working out when Ex-Raid passes will drop, but you can never be certain.

A few raids here and there aren’t going to cut it; you’d have to be very lucky! You have to be a frequent raider.

If you’ve raided the chosen ex-raid gym in that certain window and X amount of people have too, when ex-raid passes are sent out (they are generally sent out across the world at the same time, there is a pattern you can work out) it will show up on screen and appear in your bag.

While ex-raid passes are easier to obtain now than previously, they are still hard and you have to put the work in raid wise.

Yeah I do loads of legendary raids and when I can't I solo level 3s as that gives good rewards too.

toad defo not to do with quests. I've hatched 16 eggs since yesterday morning and have a full set again now so I've picked up at least 16 in the last 2 days.

ToadsforJustice Doubt it; I’m constantly chewing through mine and they keep getting replenished.

I haven't had any eggs for a few days. I walk pass over a dozen PokéStops every day just on the way to work. Could it be something to do with the new quests?

hmm odd. I know everyone else round here has the same ish ratio of Charge to Fast. Fast are easily disposable. Charge are to be used only for REALLY useful mons.

That’s weird. I have more charge TMs than fast TMs!

I have a LOT of Fast TMs but only around 20 Charge TMs at the moment. I find the Charge TMs to be much rarer in general than the Fasts.

I have over a hundred TMs from doing so many raids so I don’t find them that rare, hence why I said I would use one But if you don’t have a lot then you’re right in that it probably isn’t worth it.

Yeah I wouldn't use a Charge TM on that. It doesn't make enough difference to the stats AND while Aggron is useful it's not an AMAZING mon, so defo not worth a Charge TM.

Aggron’s best moveset however is Iron Tail/Heavy Slam, so I would definitely use a charge TM to get that so you have double STAB and maximum damage.

If you do some simulations in PokeBattler there's very little in it, and in some situations Stone Edge is better. But I have other Aggrons with Iron Tail/Heavy Slam and other places that my TMs will make more difference (Lugia I'm looking at you).
