MuddlingMackem Yes, different Pokemon are found more commonly in certain places than others, like increased water spawns in places near a lake/beach/sea/river etc, or increased grass Pokemon in heavily parked/grassy areas, but that is only applicable to wild Pokemon.

The Pokemon you hatch from eggs are completely random and are not affected by location.

Me: how weird that we're in the same part of the country, yet I've hatched a good three or four of them.

MuddlingMackem That’s not weird. You’re both in the UK and egg hatches are random throughout the country; no one area will produce more eggs with a certain Pokemon in.

Really, from posts I've seen you do seem to find some 'mon are more common in various places, and eggs hatch the same things over and over. PickAChew does some of her hunting on my patch, so it's a shame she's missed out on that one so far. :)

Kpo - it's totally random.
Last 2 community days I caught 2 each time so I guess it's random. Somebody in our group found 10!!
Overall I have quite a few shinies. I saw 121 Bulbasaurs today (and caught some other Pokemon) and used lucky eggs for extra xp.

Community Day here was fantastic. There were about 20 of us bimbling around a local park having a good laugh. We all caught at least one shiny (I caught 4), split into 2 groups to raid Aggron (mine has 98% IV) and we all agreed that Community Day is a great idea and we're all looking forward to the next one.

Kpo58 It is completely random, it’s just unfortunate luck on your part.

They really toned down how good the event Pokemon were; there were a lot less wonders and shinies about than previous event days.

I was out for the entire community day hunting bulbasaur and I didn't come across any shiny ones. Sad

Oh and I also hatched a shiny Pichu and all the XP I gained pushed me into Level 35! Grin

Woohoo, great event! I caught seven shiny Bulbasaurs so I was very happy with that, and highest shiny IV was 70% so not too shabby Smile My highest IV of all was 90%.

Some statistics specifically from the event:

• I earned 168,125 XP
• I gained 91,426 stardust
• I saw 149 Bulbasaurs
• I caught 141 Bulbasaurs (incl. 7 shiny)
• I had 8 flee
• I caught 0.78 Bulbasaurs per minute
• It took on average 1 minute 17 seconds to catch each Bulbasaur

Actually I just realised I had enough candy for two evolves so my only remaining now seem to be the Bagon evolves! I have enough for the first but holding out for a better Bagon.

Got three shiny bulba and hatched an Azurill! Very happy with my shiny haul as I only got to play for the last hour of the event.

Thanks to Azurill I'm now on 111 Hoenn mon and can walk all the rest I need (not including regionals and unreleased of course)

Second catch of the event and the sun was shining. Unfortunately, once we got into town it was merely partly cloudy, there, but we caught a couple of cacnea before we got there. May have enough candy to evolve one before gen 4 arrives!

Congrats cottonwool. No shiny for me this time. Sad I think I cursed it be worrying that I might accidentally delete a shiny as it's similar in colour to the original.

Shiny Bulbasaur! Not great IV (51%) however it's a high level (26) and it would make shiny Venosaur. Going to hold off and decide at the end of the event whether to evolve this one or a better IV, non shiny Bulbasaur. I don't have Venosaur yet so it will be Pokédex Shock

tsr is rejecting my nest report advances with a fuckton of gaslighting, thus week.

It could be to do with the current map issues. Niantic changed the hashing keys system so all maps are currently in the process of breaking the new api and are therefore down until it’s done.
