Draconius Go - Who's playing ?

GreenShadow · 08/11/2017 20:55

I thought it was about time we had a thread for those playing the new Draconius Go game.
It's been mentioned a few times on the Pokemon thread but rather than take that over, let's have our own shiny new thread.

I only started today after seeing so many positive recommendations online (including MN).

My initial thoughts are that it is MUCH better for those of us living in the countryside as Pillars of Abundance (what an awful title) are everywhere unlike Pokestops which I found very difficult to get to. There are also more Arenas (Gyms) plus the added interest of Libraries, Obelisks, Portals etc.

I'm not quite convinced by the creatures yet though but that's probably just because my DSs grew up with the original Pokemon and I was 'forced' to learn them all off by heart.

I've already managed to put a couple of creatures into arenas, both of which were empty and presumably had never been used yet.

So who else is playing ?

tumpy and Who
But my experience is that even the Champions are also being thrown out after a week or so. It's certainly happened in to of my local ones so I just dropped by and placed a creature again.
Hopefully it'll happen with yours too tumpy and Who

whowants that's happened to me too - gave up because I wasn't getting anywhere. But on reflection I th8nk it might be because you have to get the score of the arena down to 0. So if you are battling a 2 level arena it has to go down from 2000 to 0 for you to capture it. I have tried training against a friendly gym and I think it was raised by a few hundred every time I won so to defeat a gym totally will mean battling against it at least 4 times. Not so easy at the deli counter! This whole arena thing is ridiculous now. All the gyms near me have been taken over by champion now with creatures way higher than mine so I don't stand a chance. The other day I was in a different part if town and the only gyms not taken by champion were in people's back gardens. I had no way of accessing them! I was enjoying the game with the quests and treasure hunts but they might have just killed it for those few of us who are playing.

WhoWants2Know · 10/12/2017 07:06

I was battling yesterday in the Arena of Malicious Kittens (inconveniently located in Morrisons deli area) and I killed the SunTsi that held it twice- but it didn’t get kicked out! I don’t understand. I had to move on at that point, because people wanted to actually buy stuff.

dillite · 09/12/2017 23:45

My dragon was kicked out by a 3000cp champion. My strongest dragon is 600-something CP. Fuck that shit!

tumpymummy · 08/12/2017 07:59

So Champion isn't a real person?! That explains it! I couldn't understand how there was a red and a blue champion near me. But that's not fair, they are taking over all the arenas near me and they are a much higher level so my creatures don't stand a chance of kicking them out. They are also hogging several of the spaces in 1 arena with really high cp creatures. That's ridiculous!

Starlight2345 · 05/12/2017 18:58

Oh my..I took back my gym from champion..I can see it on map from home and it has been taken back again by Champion..It has plumes of smoke round it..Bloody annoying.

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 05/12/2017 18:47

Yes, it was Champion. I've taken over the one arena that I've seen occupied by another player which has shown no signs of change since the start. It was a long winded battle for a fairly weak monster!

GreenShadow · 04/12/2017 22:41

I've been out to try and claim back my arena stolen by 'Champion' and it's impossible. He can defeat all my creatures easily. Doesn't bode well if they start taking back all arenas.

Ah, interesting, I was booted from a gym this morning as well. I’ve forgotten which one I was in though...

GreenShadow · 04/12/2017 16:18

Ahh.
It turns out that my "opponent" who had kicked me out on an rena is one of the "Champions" purplewaterbottle mentioned yesterday. There was an obvious clue in that he goes by the name of "champion"!

Somewhat and Starlight, what's the betting you've also been booted out by "Champion".

Level 3 after just a quick walk, I love the early levelling up! Already preferring it to PoGo because there're two Pillars I can get to on my lunchbreak walk, plus a Library for when I'm a higher level. In my PoGo days I would be cut off from the Pokestops during the week just because there weren't any near work, so this abundance of PoAs is a refreshing change. Sadly the closest isn't quite near enough to farm from my desk, but that's probably a good thing.

BlueKarou · 04/12/2017 12:59

Thanks for the heads up! Have just downloaded it after having grown tired of PoGo a while back. This should get me through the Christmas period.

Starlight2345 · 04/12/2017 12:37

I was kicked out of 2 arenas this morning bu no real idea of where they are .

I have put myself on a new Gym today that was yellow. So on 9 now.

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 04/12/2017 11:30

Someone else has cropped up and knocked me out of two arenas over the weekend. I hope my rural ones are safe, I did a lot of tramping through muddy public footpaths for them!

LunasSpectreSpecs · 04/12/2017 08:09

Just started this game yesterday. Much better for me in terms of "stuff" around my house than PoGo where there's not a gym or stop within half a mile. Sort of feeling my way through at the mo and not very sure what I'm doing; joined the blue team as that's the one I'm in for PoGo, got a couple of eggs hatching. The creatures are much prettier than the Pokemon certainly.

GreenShadow · 03/12/2017 18:55

I am no longer alone!

Someone else in my rural area/small town actually plays!

For the first time since I started playing, I have been thrown out of an arena by an opponent (as opposed to just being thrown out after a certain time). Let the battle begin.

Starlight2345 · 03/12/2017 14:11

Yes I agree . I am on 10 at the moment . One near school has returned to yellow so saving that one for when gyms drop.

I find now not much new walking around more new with eggs

WhoWants2Know · 03/12/2017 09:03

Just loaded this game in hopes of getting the kids out for a walk.

purplewaterbottle · 03/12/2017 08:03

The new system of 'champions' taking over arenas is bloody annoying. It's like they're trying to fake what it would be like having more players in the game, I now have to go and fight these fake players if I want my arenas back! And some of them are in some right dodgy places...

tumpymummy · 03/12/2017 00:57

The only thing that libraries do as far as I can see is allow you to change the moves on one of your creatures. But since I am just learning the game I have no need to do that at the moment. Maybe once I get 2 the same of a high CP creature I'll use it.
The placing of stops and arenas does seem to be very random I agree. But fortunately I have a pillar at my house.

dillite · 01/12/2017 21:25

I went on the motorway/ dual carriage way today and there were literally hundreds of pillars and arenas along the road. Who thought it a good idea to place them there?

GreenShadow · 01/12/2017 19:39

Starlight
I think the timers are that you get double something or other (items when you spin a pillar possibly?) for 30 mins (I think). Only had one once and didn't work out was was going on myself at the time.

OP posts:
Starlight2345 · 01/12/2017 17:56

I hit level 20 today..

I agree the problem with this game is there is so much I don't understand.

What are libraries for ..

When I get a treasure chest I get timers in the corner no idea what for?

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 01/12/2017 13:39

I've had a good go today and levelled up to halfway through L11. The only occupied arena I've seen has the same L6 player as when I started a few weeks ago. I went on a walk into the countryside and there were a good few arenas, obelisks and pillars accessible from footpaths. Some were right in the middle of crops though Sad

The spawn rate seems really low which makes it feel like a lot of tramping around to achieve anything.

I want to like the game as there's a lot of potential, I just feel like I'm not joining up the dots very well and can't see much online to help with a bit of strategy.

GreenShadow · 28/11/2017 22:57

Same here Tumpy. No one else appears to be playing in my area although it is fairly rural/only a small town. It's quite a weird feeling, knowing I'm roaming the lands of the dragons all alone....
