Draconius Go - Who's playing ?

GreenShadow · 08/11/2017 20:55

I thought it was about time we had a thread for those playing the new Draconius Go game.
It's been mentioned a few times on the Pokemon thread but rather than take that over, let's have our own shiny new thread.

I only started today after seeing so many positive recommendations online (including MN).

My initial thoughts are that it is MUCH better for those of us living in the countryside as Pillars of Abundance (what an awful title) are everywhere unlike Pokestops which I found very difficult to get to. There are also more Arenas (Gyms) plus the added interest of Libraries, Obelisks, Portals etc.

I'm not quite convinced by the creatures yet though but that's probably just because my DSs grew up with the original Pokemon and I was 'forced' to learn them all off by heart.

I've already managed to put a couple of creatures into arenas, both of which were empty and presumably had never been used yet.

So who else is playing ?

Just to let you know, that there seems to be new montsers abound (possibly Hallow e'en ones)

tumpymummy · 27/03/2018 15:07

I haven't tried lures so will give that a go. THANKS! I am struggling with arenas at the moment. Even though I live in the middle of a city there aren't very many near my house, only 3 within walking distance. At the moment all of them are occupied by Champion with massive creatures, with way higher CP than any of mine. It's impossible to get in to arenas and so get coins. It's totally killing the game for me.

GreenShadow · 08/03/2018 11:18

Have any of you few people still playing noticed an increase in unusual creatures recently?
I used a lure yesterday and instead of lots of the usual rubbish, had three new creatures appear in half an hour. I also found two more new ones over the course of the day.
Tried another lure this morning (I'm on leave - a quiet few days) and two more new ones appeared (although one ran off before catching).

Is this a gradual release like Pokemon have done with Gen3 or have they just realise players have got bored. I must admit it is having the effect of getting me slightly more interested again.

Yes, I think I am only still playing because I have a pillar at my house. I like the quests and the magic spells. Occasionally I do a golden egg hunt. That's where I have got my highest CP creatures from. I Do Not Like Champion. Agree that it is really annoying when you traipse somewhere only to be knocked out by a bot. Lack of creatures and spawns means that when I am out walking I choose to do Pokemon rather than Dragonius.

UrgentScurryfunge · 22/02/2018 19:38

I'd have kept more interest if there was a pillar in the garden Grin

If the developers sorted out the glitches, I could be tempted to resume regular play. Given that pokemon has had similar phases that come and go, it can't be major programming to resolve.

The dragon recruitment incentive was a total farce!

GreenShadow · 22/02/2018 15:20

Likewise Urgent. I still go on it occasionally - just to check if any of the local arenas have finally become vacant.

I was so optimistic when I first discovered it but it has failed to deliver.

The Champions totally spoil it. It does seem very strange that the developers don't seem to be reacting to this and pulling them out of arenas faster.

The only thing in it's favour as far as I'm concerned is that I have a Pillar in my garden so stocking up on balls and potions isn't a problem. There's just not much to use them on.

I seem to be the only player round here too. Never seen a portal. Doing "duel of wizards" is annoying, cos the icon is on the left side of the screen i'm mainly right handed. Very rarely do I see/get anything different as it's mainly:-

Berrydillo
Potty
Frogus.

When do I decide to fight an attacking monster, I get my bum kicked within about 10-15 secs. without even making a dent in the other's HP.

UrgentScurryfunge · 22/02/2018 14:25

I haven't deleted it yet...

I'm finding the game too stingy to play. A very limited, dull, useless set of monsters to catch in the wild. Too many inaccessible features and too difficult to replace balls and potions when pillars only give out one or two items. I find there is a lot of traipsing around draining my phone battery for little reward.

I resent being the only player in the area and being kicked out of arenas by Champion only a few days after I went wading through claggy fields to put my creatures in then not having the resources to restore them to health. Meanwhile Champion has kicked me out again. It's more frustrating than when I struggled with the old gyms in Pokemon, at least it was usually other people involved.

Frustrating because the game has good potential in the structure particularly compared to when pokemon is due for an event/ new generation, but each update seems to make it harder to play. I'm not parting with real money for blooming shovels. I do occasionally get things in pokemon but they enhance game play rather than being essential to it.

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 22/02/2018 13:58

I'm still playing.

tumpymummy · 22/02/2018 09:17

Anyone still playing? Or just me?!

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 24/01/2018 16:43

I'm pissed off, yesterday I chucked a Barrydillo with a Strength of 5 & Health of 4 without thinking. Angry

tumpymummy · 11/01/2018 09:19

By the way increasing bag and creature storage is half price at the moment - 100 coins. I remember Pogo have only ever done that once so I am using up my coins!

tumpymummy · 11/01/2018 09:17

Spells are in 'Magic. Every time you fight a creature you get coloured stones. In magic you install an alter then you choose which spell you want to cast and use yr coloured stones. I have 2 recipes to choose from which I think came from treasure boxes originally. Once the spell is cast you get a tower next to you that throws out specific creatures. I get arcana or earth. It's a bit like sticking a lure on a pokestop or pillar, except that you don't need to be next to one - one is created. It lasts about half hour. Last time I got 15 creatures from it Inc one new.

GreenShadow · 10/01/2018 18:56

I haven't tried any spells yet tumpy - what did you do?

OP posts:
UrgentScurryfunge · 10/01/2018 11:06

I'm struggling with it. I've had a break over Christmas. The spawns are too rare and pillars mean and widely spaced to restock for battling. Being L16 Champion is too strong and has blocked me out of the arenas. No one else plays in my area. The only one I saw was L6 when I first started, no other action since then.

It's frustrating that you walk up a good mileage to access features like arenas then they soon get taken over by an in game bot. Just too much work for too little reward. It's not worth draining the phone battery for a few frigid and potty just to cover 5k for a mediocre egg that doesn't help you challenge Champion.

I like the concept and a few practical changes could save the game. Meanwhile I can stick my go plus on and go for a run and find some nice surprises in my pokedex.

tumpymummy · 09/01/2018 23:47

Yeap I'm the same as Greenshadow. I've only kept playing Dragonius because I have a pillar at my house. Recently I've done a few magic spells at home which have been lucrative.

GreenShadow · 08/01/2018 17:30

I only really play from home - when I'm out and about I'd much rather do PoGo.

We don't get a lot of spawns though but because we have a Pillar in the garden I am always topped up with balls in case anything appears. I do occasionally put down a lure in the evenings which I can never do with PoGo as I'm nowhere near a PokeStop.

OP posts:
loc · 07/01/2018 10:33

I deleted it due to lack of space on my phone when I was out and about and wanted to take pictures.
I haven't looked at it since Gen 3 arrived, the shadows are too irresistible and using my go plus is much kinder on my battery life.

Dillite2 · 06/01/2018 19:19

So, how is everyone? Still playing? I saw a new name in a gym today that wasn't me or a champion. Things are hotting up round here!

dillite · 26/12/2017 22:43

I am sort of playing- DD is doing it for me, but to be honest, the lack of new creatures and the "champions" are making me rather bored with the game. I am not really playing PoGo either to be fair, I think I am just getting bored of games in general.

GreenShadow · 24/12/2017 14:53

I still sort of play but the lack of interesting spawns and the 'Champions' have made it rather dull.
There still doesn't appear to be anyone else in my town playing and taking over arenas though.

OP posts:
tumpymummy · 23/12/2017 10:26

I still have it on at home. I'm level 20. But am getting increasingly fed up with my creatures being knocked out of arenas all the time by 'champion'.

UrgentScurryfunge · 22/12/2017 09:58

Anyone else still playing or has gen 3 claimed all the glory back? Smile

I'm up to level 16, mainly due to sporadic wild fights and PVP battles. My phone battery is too ancient to cope with the screen on while walking up much milage.

UrgentScurryfunge · 18/12/2017 10:49

I've levelled up to level 15. The arenas are all yellow apart from one with a double champion in.

My current quest is for 5 libraries, I was only in one anyway so haven't missed out on much with a level change.

I've also saved up the coins for a set of shovels. They are frustrating to come by in the game when it's the only way to complete a hunt.

Starlight2345 · 10/12/2017 19:59

i was on 9 gyms down to 4..when i doubt anyone has took them from me
