Well, saw this little one left overnight in a gym. Sad, really... Where are his parents? What were they thinking? Do they work night shifts too?

So many questions...

I got a smoochum, yay!

I also managed to get my third evolution of all three starter Pokémon today. I evolved higher level Venusaur and Charizard, and have enough for a Blastoise but I'm vacillating about it. My Wartortle is not a very high level one so I'm hedging my bets and hoping for two more squirtles before the event finishes so I can do a double evolve of a cp500ish squirtle instead of doing my cp600 wartortle.

PidgeyfinderGeneral · 07/01/2017 17:00

A ditto keeps its own CP in a gym so they get wiped out pretty quickly.

I have been walking my grimer and was getting pretty sick of the purple monster following me around like Donald Trump pursuing Hilary Clinton around the stage. Managed to catch another one last night and was finally able to evolve it. Now walking an abra so I can get an alakazam.

PossumInAPearTree · 07/01/2017 15:47

In a gym does a ditto keep its own cp or take the cp of what it's battling? Because if it keeps its own mine wouldn't last five secs!

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 07/01/2017 15:19

I've got one ditto. I took over a gym yesterday and put it in there for a laugh. It turns into the first pokemon it comes up against which was quite entertaining for training for some extra CP.

I did a mass evolution on a lucky egg last night adding about 50,000 xp. Now 3/4 through level 26. It's nearly 4 weeks since I levelled up as I've been in a lot with being poorly and Christmas.

I got some new pokemon yesterday, caught a wild Ivysaur. (I have the candy for that but would rather stash 125 for the full stages of evolution). Also evolved a Sandslash, Raichu and Arbok. It'll be a while before I can evolve anything new.

Still on 214 magikarp candies. I think he's going to be my next buddy now ekans has done his job. No one else is nearly ready to evolve.

TallulahBetty · 07/01/2017 15:01

Yes Galen. You won't see a wild Ditto. You think you're catching a Pidgey and then it evolves.

TheOtherGalen · 07/01/2017 14:48

It's interesting how different the range of critters is for the UK vs the US.

I get tons of kabutos, sandshrews, doduos, magikarps up the wazoo -- lots of the ones that people here are reporting as rare. Meanwhile I've never even seen a ditto!

Is a ditto like ... a trick? Like, you think you're getting a pidgey but then when you catch it, it turns out to be a ditto?

PossumInAPearTree · 07/01/2017 14:38

I caught a wild ivysaur today but cp is something like 200. I only have 80 candies so don't know whether to evolve this slightly shit one to save 25 candies or evolve a 500cp bulbasaur but then I will never have a venosaur. Obi I need another 20 candies for the first option but am going to spend tomorrow pokehunting.

MuddlingMackem · 07/01/2017 14:29

Oh, and I would need to walk 16km for my Magikarp candies, I need four Magikarp, not just four candies. :)

MuddlingMackem · 07/01/2017 13:06

I'm not walking Magikarp because I know they're around, and I will catch them within a couple of weeks probably. I'm currently walking my Kabuto as I've barely seen them. When I started I needed 33 candies - however, 6 down only 17 (and another 85km) to go. Hmm Grin

DameDeDoubtance · 07/01/2017 12:48

Muddling Magikarp are one candy per 1k so achievable!

TallulahBetty · 07/01/2017 12:41

Thanks Mackem. Why don't you just walk your magikarp for the last few candies? Will only be 4km Smile

MuddlingMackem · 07/01/2017 11:42

TallulahBetty, as I understand it, the starter event is due to finish sometime on Monday.

Soubriquet, nice one!

I'm four Magikarp away from a Gyarados and out this morning I saw an unexpected Magikarp, nowhere near water except maybe puddles. Thrilled to catch it and mentally counting down to my Gyarados - the damn thing was only another bloody Ditto! That's my eighth one, and DH still hasn't caught one. Bah! So, still need four Magikarp. Sad

Soubriquet · 07/01/2017 11:35

My dh is over the moon

After months of trying to get bulbasaur, we manage to get bulbasaur, ivysaur and venusaur all within 12 hours!!

TallulahBetty · 07/01/2017 11:11

STARTER event

TallulahBetty · 07/01/2017 11:11

Can anyone remember when the startetime event is supposed to end?

FrogTime · 07/01/2017 07:56

Welcome kitty!

Not sure I'll get my last charmander candy today, woke up with an awful cold so taking DD for a walk doesn't appeal that much! I think I'll hide under a blanket and subject myself to peppa pig all day Grin

FeralBeryl · 06/01/2017 23:44

Wow, thought I had another wild Ivysaur in the living room then...

Today's rubbish hatched Spearow, Staryu,Oddish, Lapras and eggscute. Lapras helped me beef my old one up.

Really enjoyed the egg event. I got all the babies except Magby and Smoochum. Also hatched a really good Aerodactyl and a Dratini with loads of candy. This week I finally got enough candy to evolve a Charizard, then caught another one almost straight away! I'm hoping to go to a pub by the river tomorrow to see what I can get with a lure. If I'm lucky I'll get enough candy to finally evolve a Dragonite.

KittyMcAllister · 06/01/2017 23:10

Just joining here! I've been playing since the summer but had to start again in October as the email address I registered with went defunct.

I've loved the recent starters event, I now have all three evolutions! I am up to 139 on the pokedex. My best wild catch was probably a dragonite. I've been buying incubators as well and been quite lucky- got all the babies except Togepi.

Any theories on the next big thing? DH reckons that the increase in starters is a way to "finish off" this phase of the game and pave the way for Gen 2...I'm hopeful he's right!

FeralBeryl · 06/01/2017 22:59

53rd I was the same, I've now worked out that rather than taking back gyms at level 2-3 and hoping someone joins me quick, I find a level 8-9 one and battle my way in.
I've stayed in 3 for over a week now which is a miracle. That said-if anyone takes MY gum at the end of the road, I'm straight out in my slippers reclaiming it Grin

HRHlikeahornyponywould · 06/01/2017 22:56

I caught a wild charizard on Sunday.

Someone in my local gym has a tauros. I'm in the UK, so quite impressed

TallulahBetty · 06/01/2017 22:50

Hooray! Finally evolved my Venusaur. And I'm very close to a Charizard too.

Caught a wild Venasaur today although isn't a high level (CP 128) but isn't quite as impressive as the wild Blastoise a previous poster caught Grin.

Still not hatched my egg, hopefully will hatch my 5k tomorrow.
