Half birthday

Twice now I’ve had an email from different retailers telling me I have a discount code because it’s my ‘half birthday’. Just pondering on why I would want to spend more money for this reason….

It is just marketing i can't say I have had this tbf, just unsubscribe from the emails. It is liberating not to get absolute rubbish emails.

Yes I agree and I do try to but sometimes I want to buy something and not miss out on a discount but half birthday- whatever next 😆

I know it is irritating, I heard of people celebrating babies half birthdays!

I've never heard of half birthdays. But honestly retailers don't miss a trick to try and get you to buy stuff do they?

I get loads of emails from retailers because I sign up in order to get the introductory discount . I periodically unsubscribe from them. I see now a lot of online retailers are going down the route of only giving introductory discounts if you sign up for emails and texts. There is absolutely no way I will sign up for texts so they can keep their introductory discounts.

My grandmother always used to celebrate my 3/4 birthday. I realised as an adult it’s because it’s always in school holiday when she was looking after me. and it was probably a way of killing time!
