To think people are very critical

I realised that maybe I've been surrounded by knobheads? I seem to come across and was raised by very critical people. My mum can be awful and harsh. So can my sister. Ive always got on well in jobs but in every job comments have been made about my looks and jibes. In one god awful job a woman used to tell me I was stupid to my face. Im not stupid at all. Why are people such dicks?

I'm sorry that is your experience, but I don't think that is "people" in general, you seem to have had unfortunate balance of experiences.

If your Mum is like that, it isn't surprising other family members, such as your sister are / is like that, as that is the example modelled by your Mum all your lives. It is much more surprising that is your work experience though.

Yes, some people can be critical, but, as @DorsetKnobBiscuit says, most aren't, so surely there are people you come across who aren't constantly critical ?

Yeah i have but shitty jibes do wear me down. I wouldn't ever dream of speaking to anyone the way I've been spoken too
