Dog Bite Advice

Dog grazed/nipped child 9 this morning. Child was trying to tuck him in with a blanket and dog didn’t like it. The cut did not bleed and
not sure skin was even broken - maybe a tiny puncture mark. I washed with antiseptic wash and I am now wondering do we need any more treatment?

If child is aged 9 and has had all vaccinations, they don’t need a tetanus. I’d say it’s fine, just keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the reply. After looking online, I was under the impression I should have taken him to A&E!

Teach your child to behave around dogs and look for clues in their demeanour before they get to this stage.

Do you always over react to very minor “injuries” in this way?

Child is usually very sensible around the dog, usually - I am a single parent and sometimes find it difficult to make decisions regarding health alone. I administered first aid and was settled but I shouldn’t have googled.
