Party bags for 9 year old boy

9 year old boy taking a handful of friends go karting so not a party.

We probably won’t be organising food etc as the venue doesn’t cater so would like to do small party bags - any ideas for fillers? Apart from sweets and a cupcake? Don’t want to do a lad of tat but also appreciate the parents making an effort to bring the kids

It’s only tat if they don’t use it! We’ve used the little gold medals you get in Tesco, a whistle or harmonica, a slinky, then we always get chocolate coins, the mini haribo packets, a packet of crisps

party bags can be fun to make give and receive.

i usually tie them to the theme.
black and white checkerboard bags
a note book with a range of race car stickers plus each child’s initials on front.
iron on patch with race car inspired designs
(buy the note books in bulk from art supply shop, buy stickers and iron on patchws from etsy or amazon, let your son make the arrangements)

The best party bags my son have got (according to him) have been mountains of plastic tat like those sticky lizards, the rainbow 3d printed animals, and a yo-yo. I think a decent 3d printed animal and a sweetie cone could do the job without putting you on some kind of parental hitlist.

You can get some great magic tricks with the sliding drawers, or the magic trick flowers with the pots- they are a big hit with 9 year olds. Failing that joke books go down well, or the single clay model kits.

I think a joke book and a sweetie cone would be great. Mostly the party bags faded out around 9 though so you could be the first to stop and I’d guess most parents would be delighted to follow your lead.
